Heard one once at Walrus Systems some years back. Driving Stirling Broadcast LS3/5a V2. The sound was decent if a tad gentle. I love the looks of the A30.
Pure Sound is based in Devon which is quite nice.
Andrew, did you say you tried one in the past?

At first I thought it a bit weak sounding, then I convinc3 myself it had its own charms. Ultimately I decided it wasn’t all that great. Audio mk1 Sterling will annihilate it. I tried tube rollling bit it made little or no difference.

Is it a fairly heavy amp?

It’s extremely heavy. I’d say 30 kills maybe even a little more. Just a bit too thin, polite and dare I say bland? It lacked any sort of grip too, even with easy speaker loads.

I have heard that the 2A3 is a better bet.

My dealer pal had the A30 amp and it sounded pleasant, but nothing to make you think 'WOW!' Didn't Anthony TD (Tube Distinctions) do some work on one to improve it? My dealer pal also had Pathos amps and these were rather different and very good indeed I remember Nobody was interested though so I think he's sold them off cheap now.
