Hi everyone, I'm Martin from Hartlepool, been into hifi and music all my adult life but lately only use headphones and a small bedroom system due to hearing problems. Liked the informal vibe and good craic on here, so decided to join. My gear is nowt flash but currently consists of a Modded Phillips cd753(tube output TDA 1549 chipset), Sony minisystem or Denon amp, B&W D5 speakers, supertweeters. Heaphones are Grado 325 with a valve chifi or Arcam headphone amp and a laptop. My musical tastes started out with Rush and moved onto Steven Wilson , Tom Petty, Yello, and recently into blues and even a bit of classical. I am a avid cyclist, skinny git, mamil (middle aged man in lycra) and animal lover. Right that's the necessary done, phew,  I can now go back to loitering in the background. |

'Bout the monkey thing, apparently twas just a blag to get the salvage rights to a French ship that had run aground, it was allegedly the powder monkey and he was the sole surviving crewman. Lived here 53 years and only just found out about this. |

More builds going on in the DIY section. A nice looking Paradise phonostage being built by SQ, a Headphone amp should pop up from Andy and there's a BBMK2 being built. Nice to say that it's getting busier here 😊 |
