The other thread was good, but I am more interested in what equipment has really stood out for you? Especially the ones that got away for one reason or another.

Devialet D-Premier, Spendor D7, Chord Hugo. I liked the sound of the big Harbeth speakers at various hifi shows, but they're not feasible in my house.

I’d better not even start if Shne’s list is seen as too long.
Standouts have been Sonneteer and Spica,
A few honourable mentions to Krell, Bryston, Apogee, Duevel, NVA, Snell and Exposure.

The standouts for me is the Leak Stereo 20 and Cambridge Audio.
Despite being a 1950s design, the Leak sounds shockingly modern and clean. Most of the Cambridge Audio stuff sounds good to my ears and shouts great value.

Over last decade, the best I've heard in each category:
Speakers - tie between Linkwitz LX521 and the JBL 4365.
Power Amps - Radford STA15, Tube Distinction Copper Amp. Krell KSA50S, Longdog P6 monoblocks.
Pre-amps - Nelson Pass DCB!, NVA P90SA, Mark Levinson ML1
Intergated amps - A Luxman and an Accuphase. Don't know what models. Both From the 1980s I think.
CD Players - Technics SLP1200(broadcast verison), Sony CDP-R1/DAS-R1

My stuff is vintage, so irrelevant here... Stuff I've been impressed with off the top of my head - Harbeth 40.1's in a well remembered session driven by a vintage DC300A/Croft 25R preamp Kii Threes which work in a smaller room PMC Fact Fenestria's that don't work in small rooms as supplied but fill a cavernous space with consumate ease. Yeah, I'll also shout the JBL 4365 - so enjoyable yet no 'audiophile' in the UK wants them I have to say it - current top line Chord digital and amps Current spec LP12 which shocked me how far it's come, even in fifteen years! Tiger Paw mods take it even further away from the fruitbox roots. ATC SCM100ASL's which build so well on their 90's ancestors I used to own and miss so much! I shed tears when I heard them as *for me* they do so much right

Neurochrome power amplifiers, 286 and 686. Incredibly transparent and neutral.

Neurochrome power amplifiers, 286 and 686. Incredibly transparent and neutral. Worth selling a set of FB mono blocks for?

I looked at the prices. It is a shame we never tried the Proprius on a set of 57s. I have a pair at home again now.
My only concern is my speakers may not show enough benefit from a 286 and 686.
