Yes, my cable is 11mm, so ETI or Xhadow are looking best, but a bit pricey. Hmm, chunky

I am going to have to fit power switches on the front of the amps, as getting to the back of them is awkward.
I may meed some help... From the post on DIY Audio, they have a 15A seitch fitted, so I assume that this is obviously rayed at 250v.
Where can I get a nice round push button switch of a simolar rating? RS?

Reichelt usually have them in, RS too. Dont forget Ebay, I usually get my led push buttons from Aliexpress but with Coronavirus everything is taking forever, understandably

You don't need a 15A rating. Most switches have a surge rating that is adequate for commercial gear.

Thanks. I will have a look to see what I need to do to change the switch position.

Just done the maths. 160vA transformers at 230V, means less than 1 amp required. So a 3A switch should be more than ok?

Yes, I have found that most of the circular illuminated switches are rated at 2-3A.

I am going to try and find a switch without illumination. There is a power led neatly set into the front panel.

I saw those, but trying to stay silver. Looking like ETI Nexus or the more expensive ones will be the final fix.
I am thinking of modifying an up-occ cable tonight with the Neutriks I have at home, and then getting some ETI plugs at the end of the month.
Failing that, I will build a new cable.
One that is a little less fat.

That stainless switch is the biz Kevin. Will suit admirably. It is almost a shame to put it on the front of the amps, so I may adjust my shelf spacing to see if I can get to the switches. I have changed out the Klotz for an Elecaudio OCC cable, and it definitely sounds better. Probably almost as good as the silver cable, almost....

I leave my 686 on most of the day, only turn everything off when I go to bed, and that's via the wall switch

Yes. The problem is the Kin takes 30 seconds to pass through the soft start, the 86 are almost instant Two options - move the switch or make access easier, or fit a soft start in the amps.

I am thinking that if I put a button on the front, I could replace the LED with an illuminated switch. If I offset the switch, it will be just a standard switch. flic.kr/p/2iticMxThe picture above shows the component location. I think the right hand side of the panel is the best position if I keep the led.

I need to keep the grey matter ticking over, which is why I am thinking of building a kit.

Getting back to the Modulus 86s. I can see why you guys are so keen on these. They are stunningly good. I am streaming Fink from Tidal and it sounds fantastic.

In fact, when Tom (Neurochrome Designer) decides to start charging a proper price for them, we must all buy Simon a pint for getting the news out about them. I do worry that it's only a matter of time before the masses catch on

Any idea on the parts cost for a dual mono 686? Or better still, mono blocks?
A 286 would probably be enough for my needs.
