So, after being happy with my EVA pads under my speakers, I have glued them in place with some Neoprene glue. They seemed to make a minor change to the soundstage, so it would have been rude no to do it.

They seem to work ok, and don’t have a HiFi price tag.

Still no update. At what point should I start to be worried..... It has left Slovenia, but there is no update since Wednesday morning on any tracking system. Sometimes the Tracking part doesn't kick in until it reaches the destination country. I had that with the Alphasson Tonearm when it was coming from Croatia. The guy you got them off has decent history on DIYaudio, so i wouldn't be too concerned. Still no update. At what point should I start to be worried? End of the week?

Typical...
I post that, and 5 minutes after it is showing on the French system.

Sat here on the sofa in my man cave, listening to Yello, The Race, sipping a wee dram of Talisker. I am really enjoying the sound of my system and wondering why the hell I have bought some new amps, and am contemplating changing the drivers in my speakers. If it were a straight swap, then I probably would have already done it, but the Mark Audio Alpair 7ms are slightly different to my Alpair 7.3. The 7ms are supposed to be better though.

Hahaha, The opportunity to hear a much hyped amplifier? I'll be very surprised if you aren't quite shocked by what you hear. Hopefully anyway

Nobody was in to accept delivery, and they have been delivered...
I will be leaving work early, as I need to get home before it rains.

They have arrived safely, despite the best efforts of DPD/Chronopost. They were dropped over my garden wall, which is about 1.5m high. Fortunately they were well packed, and seem to have survived unscathed.
I have plugged them in, and have listened to my first track. They sound incredibly clean, and fast. Almost bordering on too clean with my FH3s. I need to let the interconnect (or my brain) settle in, as I have plugged in a new Graham Slee Lautus Phono to XLR cable that I happened to have lying around.
They show great promise for sure, and I can see why they are highly rated. I need to have a listen to them for a while, and switch back to my FB Monos with a similar cable and see what I think/prefer.

Me too!
I am tempted to make up a similar cable as I had from my pre to power, but phono to XLR, so a real comparison can be done. The problem is that the Aeco pure silver plugs and the OCC silver cable are flipping expensive. I am going to have a rummage and see if I have my old MC5000 cables kicking about, as they may be a better match for my ears.

It’s amazing what a change of cable can do. MC5000 now fitted. It is like listening to two different systems.
I know Oli loves this cable....
Yes, it deserves better, so I need to get my soldering iron out at the weekend.

Any recommendations for a good XLR cable? I was thinking a Neutrik NC3MXX-BAG (or what ever the 3 pin male silver connector model number is) would be ok. It is going on the end of my silver OCC cable, so it needs to be good, and preferably silver contacts.

There look, like there are some nice ETI XLR connectors available now. Also tempted by some Xhadow. But at £3 a pop, the Neutrik are probably good enough?

Up to you, but I recoil at the brass conductor. I'd guess your rca cables are of sufficient quality being Pure Silver so my choice would be to do the Neurochrome the courtesy of decent plugs. Of which, Neutrik are not even close to my idea of ideal. If you only need males, look on Audiophonics.fr at the Elecaudio ones. They are £10ea but I dont use them as the opening for the cable isnt big enough for my cable

Yes, my cable is 11mm, so ETI or Xhadow are looking best, but a bit pricey.
