Even speakers designed for wall placement (according to maker) in my experience should be at least 12" from a wall and can't see any being optimal close to a corner other than the big Klipsch models. You get more bass close to the wall when these are properly designed but lose air with reduced soundstage depth. I think the thing with AN is they work close to a back wall rather than require being well out into a room such as Harbeth. Having said that PQ's ultra expensive system uses speakers in the corners. Just watched this and the bit where he talks of the speakers crossovers literally shocked me.
" The difference between these speakers and the signature ones is the caps in the crossovers. The Signature have Copper caps, these have Silver caps. It more than doubles the cost of the speaker"
WTF!!!
~Audio Note is expensive gear and I have no gripe about the build quality or the sound I have heard from the few little bits I have heard but this is one of the reasons i'll never buy new or from "brands" again.
