An interesting read is that Shane! I've seen some big home made valve amps in use in sound systems in London and Bristol before, mainly using multiple KT88's.

I read that article earlier in the year really interesting read. Many of the early studios, radio stations and Sound Systems back in Jamaica where built using the equipment left behind by the British after independence. I went to a few Blues in parties in Brighton back in the mid 80’s but I was only 15, 16 and not interest in what system was driving the sound I wish now I was because those sound men where very approachable when it came to requests. All I do know is that they sounded incredible.

All I do know is that they sounded incredible. Was once at a blues in Chapeltown, Leeds where the entire thing ran out of rizlas! People were offering like £5 for a pack! Eventually a taxi was used to go to a 24 hour garage for a case of them...
