I've had one offered for next to nothing. Anyone heard one ? It's got basic MM and MC settings with dedicated inputs and a selection switch which would be convenient.

It's not Rega. Read the front. They're supposed to be OK. Not used one.

Stupid mistake . I've altered it thanks. It's still only 25 quid though boxed.

I recently paid £45 for one and thought that was a bargain. You can also buy the matching power supply on eBay at the moment - B stock unopened for £60 it's an smps that can power 3
Musical Fidelity V series components , I also have it powering a V DAC but it will also power the usb - spdif converter or the headphone amp.
I'm using it with an AT 150 EA (not tried the MC input though) and am very happy with it for £25 it's a steal and if you where to buy the PSU you'd have a more than capable phonostage for les
than £90. Stereophile gave it quite a glowing review when it came out with all sorts of fancy measurements.

I already had the psu on the V DAC so haven't used it without? It's a switch mode not linear which some might not like but it did make a noticeable difference to the V DAC

I love it. It's the opposite of any MF gear I've heard before in that it's lively , full bodied and has plenty of dynamics. The loud to soft is damn good aswell. I think it's a bit of a giant killer. Thanks,Tara.. I've got an MF headphone pre here that you'd have to inject with Speed to get a fizz and a bang out of. 😣 I haven't treid the moving coil circuit yer as I've got a dynavector 10X5 on at the moment and an Ortofon 2M Black. I wouldn't expect to use it with an MC though.

If you get a spare £60 you might want to try one of the B stock BNIB V PSU's on eBay.

My XLPS V3 phono stage, with the Little Pinky power supply pisses on things costing three times more. Give Rock Grotto a visit he does Little Pinky supplies and mods for MF kit. You know using the word 'simples' is a banning offence don't you Lemos. In my defence I did post the most stupid thing ever posted on any audio forum to date. So using the word simples in my case is entirely appropriate.

I'm like a kid with a new toy ! The MF headphone amp (above) has me sitting here with a big smile on my face. I bought it about 7 years ago and was totally underwhelmed. But now for some reason it's sounding fucking great. Dunno why . Must have been something wrong all those years ago because I ended up just using the headphone output on my Cyrus amp. I'll never go back now.

Hard to discern if my MF XDAC V8 $1,500 is any worse than my mates $3,500 Bel Canto.

The D50 was seriously impressive and replaced a Bel Canto in Firebottles system. Even on the end of a cheaper Philips CDP it sounded fantastic.

Thanks Lemos, I had a look at the Little Pinkie PSU's on Rock Grotto for the 'V' Series from Musical Fidelity it looks as though they are a tenner more than the 'X' Series but still reasonable at £145 + p&p. I would really like to try one out against the 'Switch Mode' V PSU to see if the Linear Little Pinkie improves what is an already excellent little Phono Stage and Dac. After the dreaded festive period I will treat myself. On the subject of smps's there are now manfacturers like Linn and soTm who prefer their switch mode power supplies over Linear ones especially when powering Dacs and streamers as they've taken measures to clean up some of the RF intereference that used to make them a bit noisy and I found that the V PSU the upgraded SMPS that can power all three 'V' Series components at once does improve things with the V DAC, I've never tried the V LPS without the VPSU so don't know about that so much which is why it will be interesting to test it with the Little Pinkie.
