I keep telling myself that I don't have any. I'm certainly not religious. I don't believe in magic either. So why , when the other day , two Sh#t things happened .... did I find myself making another minor hiccup into a third one , to convince myself that a third bit old bad luck wouldn't happen ? Also , why do I actually look for a bit of wood to touch when In saying things are looking good. I do it with a little thought that I dont need to.... but I still bloody do it! . Is , does anyone else put their socks on inside out or never open an umbrella indoors ?

I worry (very slightly) if I have to travel anywhere on Friday 13th. Other than that, no real superstitions. I often open umbrellas indoors to dry them out. There was something in our family about not putting shoes on a table, but I can't remember what the superstition behind it was.

I've only had one bad car accident . A guy came round a bend skidded across and hit me head on. It was Friday 13th January a couple of years ago. I I work sometimes with a scientist . You could never meet a more pragmatic person. A scientist cannot afford to believe in gobbledgook. Yet this guy once stopped his car on his way to work to look in a furniture shop window. He got to work and received a phone call telling him a young family member has died in an accident. This fervent non believer as most scientists are now drives 2 miles every day as a diversion so that he doesn't even by accident look in that shop window ! So . How far have we really advanced since the witch trials ?

All I know is that if I do not obey the little voice and or feeling that tells me not to do something, it always leads to some sort of unpleasant consequence. Worked late one evening stopped at a takeaway on the way home. As I got to the door something said do not go in there, guess what we all got robbed at gun point as soon as I entered.
This is but one of many times.

I only really started to worry about it when my boys were born.
Before then, if you were daft enough to come into my house uninvited................!!!!

Checking the doors and windows nine times before you go to bed would be OCD As a life-long gambler I am superstitious. Luck is a weird thing. Also I usually book Friday 13th off work and stop in the house all day. I've had some really bad Friday 13ths.

Won the irish lottery a few years back and the numbers all contained 3's

3 is a common lucky number. Especially in aChina. And 7 obviously.

If you treat a Friday 13th differently to any other day and behave out of character, you may well find yourself in bad or unpredictable situations.

It's more than superstition, it is a load of fairy tale Bollocks.

How many people here cross their fingers ? I do. If my lass is having a job interview or something at 9:00 I'll cross em and keep em crossed till I hear from her ! And I absolutely do not believe in God or magic . I know.... Pathetic ain't it ? 😟
