Any standard electrolytic will do fine. I would probably increase the size though...

Please yerself but I fit "any old crap" in all my work. What brand the caps are isn't of any interest or concern to me. The value of them is though! As I said in that other thread about the amp it seems to me that... well there's no real polite way of saying this... it seems you don't know what you're doing, as much of what you say you plan to do would be a very bad idea and some things you plan will destroy the amp!

Um if you say so, although the dozens of other amps ive done have been perfectly ok.. Cheap ELCO's do not last. This amp will be driving early 1970s speakers as it was designed to do..
tbh without being rude. If any caps need upping in value Sony would have done that.

Yeh cheap elcos are crap, when jez says he fits anything he means he buys on specification, capacitance value, esr, tolerance%, rated temp lifetime, not on brand.

If you said that to those old Sony designers. They will just laugh at you. S.

Dont be silly Shane. No Mass produced designer look back on past designs & laughs. Designs of the time are just that.
Old designs have a sound to them that is totally lost in modern efforts. If you move onto the world of Analogue Synthesizers, Leading companies such as Roland know full well that is true, the reason they are constantly remaking those old designs, plus there is a perfectly good reason why people pay a kings ransom for the old models..
You gotta learn knock it on the head comparing old to new.. It does not do & something people cannot help themselves doing..
