I've always used a smallish block of softwood and bonded the veneer with contact adhesive.

I've always used a smallish block of softwood and bonded the veneer with contact adhesive. yep, different approaches for the same end result. i prefer to use animal glue or hide glue as i know it well, ive got to go round 4 curves with a radius of 60mm. if it goes wrong it just needs warming up with an iron and reapplying. try doing that with contact adhesive

Only had one or two cock-ups in fifty odd sets of speakers. Not done a full build for a long time though,

lol just in case anyone's wondering you dont actually hit the veneer with it,its used like squeegee, you work diagonally out from the center of the veneer forcing out excess animal glue.its a very old technique. Lol, I googled it do see how it works Looks proper!!

We destroyed the southern softies. But we can't finish . 🙁 I have never by the way , seen a more embarrassing side than Arsenal. What is it with them ? Diving , appealing for cards , trying to steal yards on free kicks and throw ins... feigning injury , time wasting...everything that's rotten about the game can be seen in the average Arsenal performance. " same old Arsenal ..always cheating" Everyone sings it, and still it goes on. Bewildering. They really are an embarrassment.

Managed tp finish a very long winded project for a switch mode power supply for a cloud based server applications we have been experimenting with WBG materials far too many variables man and head scratching
Now on a bigger plus side I have managed to acquire a 24/192Khz version of Yellow's the race.
A good friend of my brother recorded it over the weekend via a studio analogue to digital converter and a pretty fancy turntable, looking forward to seeing if the effort was worth it

Am still having problems getting from D major to G Major in less than 15 minutes. (Slight exaggeration but not much). Any tips on guitar chord swapping are welcome.

This is the "Plateau" stage, as I call it. You know where your fingers SHOULD go, but they wont move quickly enough to play a song in real time. This is where 70% of people give up. Its mentally the toughest part of rhythm guitar because the only way to get there is to practice. For hours on end, until your muscle memory takes over. I'm sorry, there is just no shortcut to this part. What I'd suggest is to break it up. Pair up chords. I practiced open F to C, A to D, E - Am And then changed the pairs round, until I was proficient, then I moved to minors, 7ths and and other variations of that chord. It will take years to get them all at lightening speed. Sorry mate, but it's just how it is. I played about 4hrs a day for 2-3 years and I feel I could have done more

A good one is house of the rising sun (5 chords), However everytime I play it, someone I know dies. True story. Probably coincidence but I ain't doing any more finding out.

Yesterday I was fighting to change the front drop links on the wife's car. As usual, they are well rusted and I couldn't budge them at all. On my own car I could grind the bolts off easily, but on hers they are in a recess so the grinder won't go near them. I rang the garage which is just a few yards from where she works so they could fight with it using their air tools. I explained to my dear wife that all she needs to do is drop the car off with the new drop links on the seat, but she goes to work this morning and I see the new drop links still sat on the kitchen table
I had to drive into town just to put the drop links into the car and explain to the mechanics what I wanted doing as she just handed the keys over without a word said.
WIMMIN!

Full barre version or 1st ,5th , 6th string ? I'm having big trubs with getting a full bar chord . Especially on my acoustic. Soft finger or technique .

I cover top two strings with one finger and play the rest of the chord with the other 3. I can barre it now but I learnt the other way and once you're in the habit that's where you go. Barre sounds better, if done properly ofc. Don't be like me, learn it the right way first time.
If you having trouble with barre chords get the action adjusted so strings are as low as can go, if you didn't already, also you could fit lighter gauge strings which also helps.

Yup, good advice Again though, practicing will be best. Building hand strength and dexterity as a byproduct will make barre chords easy. Start practicing the shape higher up the neck where the frets are closer together too

Am off to lesson 3. Have decided to buy some lighter weight strings for the new acoustic guitar. The ones that came with our seem bloody hard work ! Hopefully I might get a few hours in everyday instead of limping away after an hour.

Today I are be mostly pondering a small problem. Missus brought home a bottle of CBD for her own problems and said I should try it for mine. so took a few drops. It did sweet FA for what I took it for, but it did have an unexpected bonus. As I was lying in bed ready for sleep last night, it suddenly hit me that my tinnitus was completely missing and for the first time in 3 years since my brain haemorrhage I had total silence which actually shocked me when I realised it. My joy was very short lived though as my wife's snoring was in full ultra high fidelity and I then had trouble getting to sleep listening to that racket
I have just taken a few more drops of CBD oil and keen to see if that was responsible for the tinnitus's disappearance - albeit only temporarily.
