I thought this might be a good topic because it might help spread the word about oddball performers and albums. Sometimes a bit of weird can be refreshing.
Probably more oddball than weird, but Song or Die and This Side Of Heaven by Courage of Lassie are enduring favourites for me.im sure you will have weirder reccys.

The band called Four Tet is very much a "marmite" group you either love or hate. I have a couple of their albums and admire their brand of musicianship.
Rounds is not a bad album, certainly better than their average offerings.

The obviously correct answer is 'Like Flies on Sherbet' by Alex Chilton (ex-Big Star). It has a wonderful, drunken, shambolic version 'Boogie Shoes', and the title track is Very Strange Indeed.

Brian Eno - Here Come The Warm Jets.
Imho....This is a masterpiece of Quirkyness.
Check out the songs (Paw Paw Negro Blowtorch) and be amazed at Fripps disjointed guitar solo on (Baby's on Fire) etc etc....

Another good one full of Quirkyness, and my favourite musical of all time (The Sound of Music excluded) is Frank Zappa - Thingfish.
Though i can't see this hitting the TV or Stage any time soon.

Weird it is then. Try a bit of Gilles Gobeil. I have the 'La mecanique des ruptures' album. It's not music, it's an electroacoustic construct and sounds spectacular through a good system.
Here's a track from YouTube, play it loud:

Aye that's weird, but i only score it 1/10 on account that i cant dance to it.
I always thought Focus - Hocus Pocus was weird.

If you like that Andrew, you'd probably also enjoy Artificial Memory Trace. Vol.5 is also in my collection. Another high quality recording.
