Thanks Robert - He only had this and "Kaya" (which I already have), but what can you tell me about peter Tosh? I know nothing about him, and was only drawn to his records because of his association with Bob Marley. Natty Dread is playing as I type this, and I have to say the production is excellent, especially for a recording that is nearly 50 years old. One of those albums that really needs to be vinyl imo. Of the three original Wailers, Bob, Peter Tosh, Bunny 'Bunny Wailer Livingston, I'd say that Peter was probably regarded as the most radical and outspoken. He often referred to/called the system 'The shitstym' and the circumstances the oppressed are subject to as shituations, which you'll find online, interviews etc and voiced his views strongly and firmly, without compromise. He was also an excellent guitarist, probably more accomplished than the other two in that regard. He rode the unicycle extremely well and later worked with Mick Jagger, singing together in 1978 on the song 'Dont Look Back' (Gonna Walk and Dont Look Back) I'd describe him as deeply world conscious, and aware, as were Bob and Bunny and many of their fellow Rastafarian musician peers, and one very interesting, non fluffy, deep and pretty fearless soul indeed. There are many interviews on YouTube - The visual quality of this rare one, from 1981, is poor but by listening, you get more than enough of the flavour of what Peter Tosh is about and and good insight into the kind of guy he was Of the very early singles he released as a wailer, and before fame, this is one of my faves 1976 was a fantastic year for reggae, Island Records released Bob's Rastaman Vibration album, and Bunny's classic debut album Blackheart man, and Virgin released Peters debut album, as a solo artist Legalize it album, the title track was released as a single and I remember it as 12 year old being played plenty at the time. He was tragically and sadly shot dead in 1987 at the age of 42 reggaereport.com/2020/09/11/peter-tosh-death/ Thanks for the reply Robert, very informative. I would have replied sooner, but been away in Lake District since Sunday, got back this afternoon. I remember that "Legalize it" album coming out, and thought anything with a cover like that must be worth a listen, but then forgot about it (had the attention span of a goldfish, still do!) It's back on my radar now

I'd continue that he was one very passionate and uncompromising guy.
The music industry and market, coupled with a lack of push/promotion and distribution of his material was a big frustration that he didnt hold back on expressing, as seen here

Mrs. P has just arrived back home with granddaughter for the weekend, so this one has been cut short. Probably not the thing for four year-old ears. Orbital - In Sides.

My favourite of Percy's solo albums. Phil Collins on drums (for most of it anyway).

Lana Del Ray Did you know there is a tunnel under Ocean Blvd? Wow. This is outstanding. If you want to test your bass, just listen to A&W. Not only that but the production on this and the rest of the album is sublime. Tunes and songwriting. Must get a vinyl copy

Must get a vinyl copy Norman F____ng Rockwell! is currently at the top of my vinyl wish list, and going by the reviews (and your comments) this one will have to follow. For no logical reason, it would have to be vinyl, not CD. In the meantime, I'll have to settle for this, my only album of hers. She's such a busy lass, it's hard to keep up.
