Prog 1969-1972/73 at a push.. I try my very best to steer away from 1973 output as it just does not have what the earlier material has, Also the later output is what people always think of when the Prog word is mentioned. Very embarrassing stage antics etc, demeaning of the genre is an under statement.

I do not like the word Prog, for me it was always labelled Progressive when I went in record stores. 1970 - 1977 would be my favourite years.

Are you on an argumentative Roll today? Prog is short for Progressive, However i hate the term Rock people always attach to Progressive & my reason for always shortening to Prog.

Not argumentative, just don't like the term Prog, and of course I know it is short for Progressive. I would like to remind you it was never called Prog Rock in the 70's, always Progressive music. Rock and Progressive are two different types of music to my ears.

I'd say the greatest music genre ever created was classical/early romantic, starting with, say, Haydn and carrying on up to, say Schubert. If we're talking rock/pop, then I'd say it was at its best from about 1965 up to 1972, but had a great resurgence from 1977 up to about 1987.
