I didn't even know these existed, the price seems very good for somethings with that sort of pedigree. The thing is, are they really AE1s?,they look a bit like a pair of rebadged Q Acoustics to me. What hifi seems to like them though,....

It's a good price for an active with AE pedigree. I'm genuinely surprised there aren't more active speakers being made because it seems to offer real practical benefits.

I fancied AE2s at one stage. They are supposed to sound far bigger and give a really believable sound. You hardly ever see them though.
