I don't like this bloke. A lot of what he's saying might be technically correct but I actually find it wrong, in a lot of my actual audible experience.
I'm not bothered if that makes me completely wrong or just means we don't know enough about how audio needs to be measured as it interacts with our brains and perceptions, but either way I find his videos patronising and downright annoying.
Did I mention I don't like him 🤣

This chap has a whole series of these on why vinyl/CD are plain wrong and why you should/shouldn't get back into each format. Hedging ones bet's to gather YT subscribers I suspect.
he reminds me of a Physics lecturer I had patronising corn cob up rectual passge type of bloke.
Did I mention he wasn't on my Christmas card list

I do find some of what he gives insight to here interesting, dont know anything else he's done. Seems ok to me, doesnt grate like Piers, Clarkson, Max Verstappen do me - lol. I've always sensed that a lot of us audio folk disregard the fact that what we play, the source is subject to the quality of the recording so the related insight he brings is, as I say, interesting in that regard, ie: the sources of what is in the sources It also makes me happy in regard to my own attitude and mindset which is to enjoy the music and not obsess about trying to obtain perfect replay, for me it doesn't exist, for the reasons I've stated, and aligns with what he expresses, whilst from my own experience, satisfying, thrilling, sensational music replay, that brings a smile, coupled with what could be defined as fairly accurate ( the sense of then) or faithful replay does.

Couldn’t agree more Rob. It is easy to forget that it is all about the music. After my mega upgrading I started to find myself listening to music I was not that bothered about in an emotionally involving way. I was listening to it because it was a good recording. I am all for listening to and discovering different music, but, here I was listening to stuff I didn’t really like. I wasn’t listening as much as I wasn’t enjoying it so much. I’ve now seen the light and back listening to a mixture of things, including lots of tunes I love but sound pretty mediocre in the scale of things. I’m enjoying them though and that’s what counts😁
