Doubt it, last time I went (also my 1st), apart from the Gaylord room, everything seemed to produced a noise akin to a flock of demented chickens giving it large. The longest I managed to stay in these rooms was 2 minutes. I know hotel rooms are not the best sonically, but really! Thin, pointless, plinky plonky musak. The dem teams must have learnt by now how to drag the best from a poor room, it seems the advertising displays take preference over the sound.

The Von Gaylord (what a name for HIFI!?) room was my favourite sound of the show in 2020. I shall be sure to visit that room this year. Most other sounds were rather thin and plinky plonky! I have been aspiring to the Von Gaylord sound ever since.

The Von Gaylord room stood out for me. There were a few other interesting small exhibitors. The Naim was worth visiting to see how bad something costing hundreds of thousands could sound. Meeting up with my brother on the Sunday so worth it for that alone.

Bit of a trek for me, and the NW audio show at Cranage (much closer) is free entry! Also have NEBO, Wam Show, and hopefully another Midlands Bake-off. That lot's enough for me

I used to go quite regularly to the Brizzle show, but it turned into midfi sounding dreck tbh, with the reps loudly talking to each other in or just outside the dem rooms. Perhaps one or two rooms each year being a positive exception, but not worth attending for.
Great for industry networking but not much else.

Superb show .spent too much already ! Nice to see dave from mcru as usual with his goodies
The rogers room was the best for me .the active aubs in the stands under the small monitors was just spellbinding in realism .wow !!!
Most of rooms were too loud for me but enjoyed some others .the qualio from cube ( i think) were quite compact but had superb bass and clarity .at 4.5k they are worth hearing
Audionote was actually a nice volume so enjoyed the anj .thanks audionote
Lockwood were ok , nothing to write home about
Fyne classic 3 at 4.5k are great vfm and nice big soundstage .would i swop for my eatons ? No way .not persuaded .the quality of the adjustment mechanism on the tannoy seems more classier to me
Quite impressed by balanced mains supplies especially one from connected fidelity .might look into that more
The spendor d7 were ok too but still not quite convinced they are not too forward
Well worth a visit if you can

just seen a video of these . beautiful ... wouldnt mind a pair and great vfm . they were at the show today Agreed, definitely one of the better sounds at the show. Very good performance for the money and the design uses high quality drivers and you can hear it. The bass was very good and I really liked the 'air', openess and clarity in the mids and HF. My only slight reservation (to my ears) was the integration of the bass and mids. The open baffle design gives a distinctive voice to the mids (which many will love, and a few will find a little strange). The bass is in an enclosure so had a different sound 'character' over the crossover with the mid. It was certainly done extremely well, but for me there was a slightly different character and disconnect between mids and bass. This wasn't evident on all music and may have just been something that I found odd. However, even considering that, they were exceptionally good performers. The direct from factory sales model certainly makes them incredible performance/price.

And, unusually, the very proud designer was very happy to chat about his product and his design ideas. He was very proud of his ‘thinking out of the box’ to design a speaker with no box.

Highlight for me today was the Kerr Acoustic speakers. Great to be able to speak to the proud manufacturer. Beautifully balanced sound and wonderful base extension from a small stand mount. I thought the midrange/ lf driver was exceptional. I wonder if it features in many other quality speakers? Arke? www.kerracoustic.com/innovation

I went to listen to the Kerrs 3 times. Those Scanspeak sliced paper cones feature in many great speakers - some costing 6 figures! It's rather fortunate you really like the sound of those drivers! Just imagine that sound underpinned by an exceptionally good 8" bass driver too!
