to cut a long story short, my brother got home this evening to find his back door open and was ready for the worst, he could hear something upstairs and was ready, then a big grubby fox came down the stairs, looked at him and made a bout turn back up.
He managed to get it out BUT, on checking rooms found his newish Audio technica headphones (circa £150), wires all chewed and in bits.
If any of you guys could point me to some good headphones, links etc at bargain price, new or used I'd be really grateful.
He's had a pretty rough year so far and it would be a nice surprise, not to mention save him the hassle of trying to find funds he hasn't got at the mo.

I've a pair of PSB M4U 1 he can have for free, as you say he's been having a hard time.
Check out the reviews, they're great.
They're black. Only issue is the headband covering has become a bit flakey so I've covered the appropriate bits with black tape. Still very cumfy they just look a bit naff on close inspection.

What a story, extraordinary and sad. I have a pair of AKG K550s, which have hardly been used (just not into 'phones). But the "leather" on the headband and earcups has disintegrated a bit (replacements can be bought off the Ebay for not much). Your brother is welcome to them free of charge - as I said, I really have no use for them.
I didn't know foxes got up to that sort of thing, I thought they just bothered bins for a living.

Foxes hate headphone listening and will do anything they can to stop it.
That's why those hunting people are so keen on getting after them. All headphone users. Cos they live in the country their headphones are always getting eaten so they are after payback. People think they do it for fun but that's just a common misconception by 'townies'.

You wouldn't think the fox hunters would be bothered. No need for headphones, you can play your tunes as loud as you like when you have a big posh house in the sticks.
Perhaps the manufacturers should think about having fox fur earpieces on their cans, show the little shites they mean business.
