Today I've enjoyed a bit of banter with our redoubtable leader Bigman, who's understanding of hifi has improved as well as his eyesight. As you say Kevin, it's only hifi and no designers/engineers have been killed in our discussions.

no designers/engineers have been killed in our discussions. Today I took apart one of the ESL57's to rectify a leakage problem. Forgotten how awkward they are to work on.

I'm sure you got it fixed, I've got a 'crackling' sound on one of mine, the previous hum problem may have been caused by the sub woofer which is humming quite badly and will have to back to REL I'm sure.

They came up. Underneath rotten ply. Up it came. Underneath…., some porridge like substance that was once chipboard. So up it came. Underneath was insulation. What a job!! All replaced correctly now though!!

Have used the stuff from Howdens in the past, and just had the 'tiles' variety fitted in our kitchen, which came from B&Q. Easy to cut, flexible but tough, and perfect for wet areas like kitchens and bathrooms. About double the cost tho.

Today I woke up in fine form. I don't usually sleep well, but today is like I have slept for a couple of days.

The best type of parties are the ones where everyone wakes up naked, and searching for their car keys.

The cataract surgery actually only takes about 5 minutes. The rest of the time is multiple eye drops to dilate and anesthetise. I have had one done.

My missus has cataracts and she is one person who absolutely hates having anything done to her eyes. I almost have to put a knee on her throat just to put eye drops in
She is waiting for her appointment which they say should be some time in December and she is getting fretful about it already.
