Whenever I sell anything I have never received a delivery name and address from Ebay, only Paypal. Is that correct?

Yes, same here. Annoyingly PayPal have stopped providing email addresses for the buyer, too. When imcourie stuff, I like to use their email address so they get updates.

The reason I ask is I have a problem with the sale of a tonearm. The man is Chinese and I received a name and address to send to in Cardiff, unfortunately the name was written in Chinese, but in one of the messages sent by ebay I got a name which I used when sending. This parcel was due to be picked up at a post office and then forwarded to China by his friend, unfortunately he cannot collect due to name difference. The buyer does have a delivery name and address on his ebay account which was not sent to me by ebay, I have seen this, and if ebay had sent this to me all would be well. He obviously has a delivery name and account name which are not the same.

I use the EBay iPad app and on there it always shows the posting address when you click into the sold item. It’s this I use for posting. I used to use the PayPal payment notification but I don’t now.

As a solution, the post office will usually release an item to someone else with ID and a note to say you want them to hand it over to a named recipient. Not sure if you’d need an original ID document or if a copy would do.

I hjave had the item returned to me, but have asked the buyer for £17, the cost of reposting. He says he will not pay and has already paid postage for something he hasn't received. I have tried on numerous occasions that I have not made the mistake and it is all sown to him not having the correct delivery name and address on his paypal account. After he won the auction he asked if I would send to China, I replied no. This is a warning for all, don't sell to anyone overseas.

Send the buyer a refund and don't post it. Overseas buyers are a complete pain in the arse and the last one I had was an italian who wanted free shipping to Italy orf a heavy CD player which I stated in the listing was free shipping for the UK only.

Best sellers of the lot Germans. Not had a single bit of trouble, they seem to get to the UK quicker than from London to me..
