They did a 4 track single with 2 acoustic tracks on too (all from that album). Worth seeking out if you get a chance. Big Yellow Taxi is the main song. Probably costs pence to buy today.

So it’s a poem rather than music, but it’s utterly memorable. As a teen, I could recite the whole thing. So many great lines too. Probs my fave is “I’d consider killing you if I thought you were alive”.
Enjoy...

First heard it in Luigi's secondhand record shop in the back lane behind the then Virgin Megastore at Oxford Circus in about 1980. I bought it (Walking Back To Happiness live album on clear vinyl) on the spot, even though it ate up half my budget for the day. I also bagged a Bauhaus live bootleg tape (with a handwritten insert on yellow photocopier paper) but it meant I only had enough money left for 'only' chips at the Wimpy opposite the Dominion theatre - no spicy bean burger, that day! Like a nightclub in the morning, you're the bitter end Like a recently disinfected sh*thouse, you're clean round the bendGenius...

Sounds like an ex of his, or maybe it’s just allegory.

Can't recall it was mentioned...but the programme is definitely worth a watch.

I had that same clear vinyl disc He came to Newcastle a few years ago but I wasn’t around to see him. Apparently he wasn’t in great shape, but still a great experience to go see.

He has the appearance of a wreck, alright...you can't turn the clock back on the effects of hard living...but he is off the drugs for a good number of years, now. Last time I looked, anyways

I heard he had an oxygen tank when he was on at The Sage, but it seems no wonder when you consider the pace of his delivery.
Another fave of mine was “nothing”. He rattled through that at a hell of a pace. Then who can forget Chickentown. Always made me think of Washington (up our way, not the USA)

Alice Cooper - Love it to Death
A very fine album through loudspeakers.
Possibly the best album in the world through headphones.
Listen once, you will understand.

Having a Melody Gardot day, played both “The Absence” and “My one and Only Thrill” a few times. Love her sound and vibe.
