I have a response:
However, he is unable to get a decent picture of the stylus. How much risk is there that an elliptical diamond is badly worn?

I contacted NWA to ask if it was possible to repair a 305MC, and the response was yes, including the TTDD, but the suggestion was to buy a V15 with Jico stylus instead. Not sure I follow the logic, so I have asked why. Suggests that's his subjective opinion rather than technical. Dom may not repair it as it was, preferring to "make it work" I'd be very specific about what repair entails

Well, the seller can’t get me a decent picture of the stylus, so it is an a abandoned project for me. €350 to have a cartridge with knackered suspension and needing a stylus replacement is a risk too far.
Karma67 had two, and they both failed.

Well my 310MC sounds good anyway. I may rationalise the cartridge stock a bit, and just keep a couple.
