I hope nobody's confusing the 'Mini T' amp with the Breeze Audio TPA3116. They are not the same thing. I should know, I own both. I'm talking of the TPA3116 Aren't we all

I was beginning to wonder, with mention of T amps. The 'T' standing for Tripath. The TPA3116 is not a Tripath device.

Well, you lot can rave over tiny little no-power amps which limits clean volume into any reasonable speaker and means you need very efficient speakers. That's wrong Dave. Did you try one? I tried your one and I'd agree with Dave. I got adequate levels from it but if you crank it then it gets a bit rough. It's good for the size and price, but in absolute terms it's only okay.

I've just bought one of these little amps and also some JBL Control 1's and was wondering what would be a good speaker cable for these. Chord do a budget cable C Sreen which is £5 per metre so a 1.5m pair would come in at £15 any ideas for something more suitable of similar price?

Thanks, I think I'm going with a QED Ruby Anniversary Evolution which is a bit of a mouthful but for £25 for a 3m pair I'll give it a go. The Amp I have is a Breeze Audio This digital amplifier adopts dual TPA3116D2 chips, which can provide clear and clarified sound output without audible pop noise. Compared with many TPA3116 amplifiers, it adds a NE5532 OP Amp Pre-level, which can ensure its excellent dynamics. It will be a good match for your bookshelf/computer/desktop speakers. You can use your phone/MP3/player/CD/TV/Echo Dot as inputs to drive 2~8Ohm speakers. Simple compact appearance design; Aluminum alloy body; Gilding RAC and crystal terminals; Luxury materials and excellent performance with low price. From Manufactures descroption.

'You seriously don't need more' I guess you are saying.
Yes you do if you want to hear all the nuances of the music.

I'm using a TPA3116 amp to drive Stax SR3 electrostatic headphones, it's a seriously good combination. Lucidity and control plus a dash of TPA3116 warmth/smoothness is just what these cans need imo.

My Breeze Audio Dual TPA3116 Chip amp arrived today but unfortunately my 24V laptop psu has a different jack but listening to it at low level using my 5v electric razor psu is a real eye opener. That even with such a small amount of power it can drive these great big 4ohm Dynaudio Contour s3.4 bodes really well is amazing really, Can't wait to get a 24v psu.

They really are a revelation and I'm contemplating trying a pair of Breeze Audio mono blocks in my main system.

Yup, excellent amps, and regardless of cost imo. I've had a dozen or so class D amps - large and small, 3wpc to 400wpc, £20 to £4k rrp - and the Breeze TPA3116 is the best sounding imo.
It now forms the class D corner of my 'amplifier square', along with solid state class A and AB, and valve amps.
I guess I am lucky in having easy to drive speakers and musical tastes that seldom require the walls to flex too much.

I've just got a 24v PSU and connected the Breeze Audio amp up to my JBL Control 1's using a Chromecast Audio and MF V DAC as source streaming Tidal from an iPhone SE and again I have to say for the money these amps a ridiculously good.
The PSU I have has adjustable volts and I actually found that the 19v setting was slightly better turning up to 24v leaves very little scope on the volume dial 9 o'clock is alreadyquite loud but perhaps this could be to with the source I havent checked the DAC's output.
Unfortunately my other half missed the postman today so I haven't been able to try what will be my main source the Fiio M9 DAP as soon as I have I'll report back.
All together I've built an excellent little system for less than £200 that is very portable and can be carried overseas inside a suitcase.

The amplifier is quite simple outrageous value and whilst it comes up short against better gear, for the money, there is just nothing to complain about. One of those kept me listening inbetween the sale of my Krell KSA 100 and the delivery of my Neurochrome 686. Not bad.

You can't fault the JBL Control One for the money either.
