Easy fix for a passive speaker used with wobbly vinyl? Just stick a high value bi-polar cap on the speaker input to filter off very low frequencies - many well reviewed manufacturers did just that back in the day and probably still do for all I know... Robin when at Audiomaster, made such a thing with multiple caps paralleled up for a pair of wobbly-cone Rogers LS3/6's back in the mid 70's when vinyl was mostly all we had (disregarding tuner and tape for a minute). Sorted it out and no degradation otherwise at all I remember. Compared to the crap in most passive crossovers, an extra cap to prevent damage to the bass unit was as nothing...
