The Unison Reasearch Absolute 845 integrated has something about it. I'm not sure if it's beautiful or ugly, but it's certainly striking.......And I'd like one! The uneven array of caps ruins it for me. Why not line them up neatly?

Heard the Simply 845 before, distinctly average. This might be a different kettle of fish though..

A most likeable amp design ideal if you have a Kryton who loves the tiny fiddly bits to dust.

Too fussy and over-styled for me. Now this is a tasty-looking amp. A little bling, not too much, plus a hint of the 1970s about it:

Aye. Imagine having the whole matching rack of components.
I think I must have some Japanese in me somewhere because I do like their styling the best.

I thought you were going to post a photo of a Krell amp. I went through the first couple of links, certainly some tasty looking amps, but would just take to long to go through them all.

I've got time on my hands...plus there are quite a few amps on there that I lusted after in the 1980s when I couldn't afford to buy a Mars bar let alone a flagship Jap integrated. One for Andre if he is looking in.

Grab handles are the hi-fi equivalent of visible cleavage. I bought one of these when I lived in Cambodia to drive my Shahinian Obelisks. Didn't have the grab handles though.

Grab handles are the hi-fi equivalent of visible cleavage. Angus has a few flagship Sansuis of this era. He's even managed to crowbar a Khozmo into one lol. They are sublime amplifiers though and they do that all important job of not adding to the sound. I always thought I'd buy one off him, fully fettled and modded but I just went off piste as usual lol

Jesus Stu, those traffos would be good for a kw+ what the hell are you driving with them? Hi Simon. Terry at Canterbury windings made me them. Two of them are used with NVA amp boards and two are used with Avondale voyager NCC200 ( copper heat spreaders, BUV20 , zobel removed, output inductor removed & input cap removed). I have 4 more NVA boards to make a six pack (when i get round to it.) On the end of the amps are my diy prototype (my whole system is still in development stage) nva inspired isobaric 3 ways with 2 x 12", 1 × 5" & 25mm fabric domed tweeter per channel.

I have a kind of music centre planned made out of baltic birch. Nothing on the fascia except volume, source selector and front panel of cdp. Turntable on a wall shelf just above it and no external cabling apart from arm cable, mains and speaker cables. I have planned it so transformers are well away from anything else and there are no interconnects just short signal wiring between all the stages. Volume control and source selector on 6mm wooden dowel extensions to the front panel, massive 6mm aluminum sheet heat sinks for things that need it. I have been planning it for a year or so. Phono stage boards, passive pre and power amp boards all very close together, psu's as far away as i can get and minimal hard wiring in between. Works out at as a wooden cabinet 60cm wide x 60cm deep by 100cm height. It has taken a lot of planning to get the internal layout. I had to think vertically as well as horizontally. Going to be a lot of psu's in there. 12 for the six pack of power amps, four for the phono stage, one for the TT and seven for the naim cdp. Can't get enough psu's, they seem to bread round these parts. Just gotta build it now

"How was it? They’re not easy speakers to drive"
Worked fine, I wasn't really listening to so much music then.
