Count speakers as a pair being 1 item.
Just looking round I've got 19 items of kit in the living room including 5 pairs of speakers. Not sure how much is upstairs as I've lost track but conservatively I'd guess another 25 to 30 pieces including another 2 sets of speakers. And I've got rid of quite a lot in the last 2 years.

Missed this one.
I’ve had a bit of a clearout, but I have no deck (arm and cart sat waiting), one CD, one DAC, One amp, a 2box headphone amp, 2 pairs of cans and 4 pairs of speakers.
I will be selling at least one pair of speakers and maybe the headphone amp

Good to be back!
I've bought a load of storage boxes so I can stash away books and other tat that is cluttering my upstairs shelves. Once I've done that I can get the whole lot together in one place and see what there actually is. I know there's a lot of CD players, mostly faulty. A complete Fisher 'studio standard' stack with tape deck, amp and tuner. A spare Technics SL1200, and a Systemdeck IIX. I know there is much more I've forgotten.

been there done that alright mate..nice to see you again.. The old crew back together. Yeah I discovered eBay, that was the downfall. Buying all the stuff I couldn't afford back in the day just to see what it was like. Cancelled my account years back, now only buy and sell on forums. And got a grip on myself. Still seems to be more coming in than going out though...even giving stuff away isn't helping. Not even started on interconnects and speaker cables, got enough of them to go round the earth twice.

Certainly sounds like it's time for a clearout Macca. Will you ever use that Fisher stuff and all the wires again?

Got so much here, all worth a lot more performance wise than the price they will sell for. The second hand market here is very bad, the guys are like vultures on a power line waiting for you to drop prices then they pounce. Not selling anything at the moment, for this very reason, I do not feed parasites.

Still can't believe you let your Techie go in the big clear-out, thought you really enjoyed it.

I'm a believer of getting rid of stuff you don't want/need, and ok if it sells below your expected price someone's got a bargain and you've made them happy. Life's too short to miser all your stuff away.

That's hi-fi for you bar the odd bit that has a fetishistic following like the Ls3/5a or early Tannoy drivers. You'll never get a price that equates to the sound quality for anything else, that's just how it is and it won't ever change. It's why you can pick up a Krell for under a grand.
of course for those of us who want high-end sound but don't have much money it's a golden age

I have an urge to buy an d collect, which is only equalled by my urge to de-clutter. Now that’s a pain in the arse! I end up buying loads of bots then getting shot of the lot as soon as I feel swamped. Actually I think I’m over it, but I still get the urges. I’m having real issues with my mobile stats tonight so may not be able to post much.

Keep fighting those urges Westie. I'm a de-clutter type of person, although I could do with a Jammy here to sort my wires out.

Keep fighting those urges Westie. I'm a de-clutter type of person, although I could do with a Jammy here to sort my wires out. I’m on Jammy’s wavelength when it comes to wires, they have to be neat. I hate captive mains leads for that very reason: So much more faff when you dust regularly. I’ve been much better at keeping the box count low, but I now have 4 sets of speakers. The Ref 3as are a class apart, so they are staying. My Spicas are wonderful and vanishingly rare (mine are the SE (X) version). The Planets are beautiful to behold and also great in rooms with reflective surfaces. The DIY Cubettes I made myself, and are therefore hard to part with. If one pair goes it will be them, I guess. Oh, and I’m not a headphone user no matter how much I try, so the reference headphone amp will go eventually.

Apart from my main system I have -
Currently making the telly sound a bit better a Yamaha R-N301 receiver, my Sony 65" is connected to this via an optical cable & plays through a pair of JBL Control Ones. There's also a small Sansui CD player connected.
Bedroom system consists of a Pioneer SX-757 receiver with a JVC QL-A7 turntable & Marantz CD6003 CD player. This system plays through a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 155s.
Subs bench
Amps Denon PMA-350SE Kenwood KA1030 Leak Delta 30 NVA A40 monoblocks EL84 valve 'copper' monoblocks NVA passive pre Audiolab pre Sansui WLD+ 700L
CD Players Denon DN600F Rega Planet Pioneer PD-101 Sony CD jukebox Sony multiplay SACD player
Turntables LAD GAJ828 Akai AP003 Garrard Zero 100SB (needs work) Jasmine phono stage
Other than these there's a pair of Tannoy Eclipse's, a NAD tuner, Sony minidisc deck, Pioneer cassette deck, one of those cheap chinese valve dacs, a couple of SMSL amps & one of their dacs.
That's about it I think, probably a few other bits lurking in cupboards I've forgotten about.

Seems a shame they're just stuck in a cupboard, might think about moving them on, got a complete set of spare valves to.

Had a huge clear out last year so only have the bare essentials now which is a Vincent CD player, a Pioneer PL12D, a Rotel RA-03 preamp, a Lyngdorf power amp and a pair of Quadral Chromium Style 6 speakers, which are sat on one side while I play with a pair of Russell K 150 floorstanders.
