Obviously no one watches the tv on this forum, but just in case I'd like to recommend a series we've just finished watching, The Offer, about the making of The Godfather movie, ok it may be 'dramatised' but bloody enjoyable. I can't really mention where we got it, but if you have access give it a whirl.

Watched it last week...good stuff. Also, "We own this City" starting that this week. John Bernthall.....good actor

Produced by David Simon, the same bloke who did "Treme" and "The Wire".

Last week we started watching "From" a series showing on Paramount+ (which you have to subscibe to, but it's free). Looking good, typical weird gory Sh#t going on in a lost small town in US, but don't let that put you off.
Music for the opening credits is a dark but brilliant version of "Que Sera Sera" (not the Doris Day version!) which Shazam couldn't find. Must be too obscure just yet, but I know that will change. Bit of searching tells me it was done specially for the show by Pixies (remember them?) Black Francis never used to sound like this. Recommended.

Norsemen Very funny. But maybe because I worked for a Swedish company, and the mannerisms/ management style was identical. Only ran for 3 seasons.. but excellent

I can't really mention where we got it, but if you have access give it a whirl. I watch loads of telly but I don't have any of these streaming services except Amazon Prime and all of the stuff on there that I would watch you have to pay extra for. Which takes the piss, frankly. These days I rarely watch anything made after about 1995 and ideally nothing made after 1980 unless it's a documentary about aliens or bigfoot or something. Was watching 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents' last night. They're still good even after almost 70 years. They used to show them on BBC2 back in the late 70s early 80s when BBC2 was good. 'Tales Of The Unexpected' was basically a rip-off of the same formula. Also watched an episode of 'Minder' where Terry has to guard a race horse. They all have the streaming services at work but from their descriptions of the shows they watch they all sound like a right load of old shite. I suppose if you're younger you haven't seen it all done before, and done better too. Same with music.

My telly gets switched on for a total of 19hrs a year so I can watch the 1 hour of MotoGP roundup on ITV4. No aerial connection, as I'm NOT paying the BBC £150+ a year the shite/repeats they put out, or their biased views which they try to ram down your throat. I use a Roku stick and watch it on catchup, no interest in anything else shown on the idiots lantern (as my father used to call it).

Well you'll be pleased to know that ITV4 is showing the old Magnum PI just before The Sweeney and Minder. I have to say though that i actually prefer the new Magnums. Shame it's got cancelled.

I have watched quite a few episodes of "From" and I seem to spend a lot of my time trying to sort out the realities in this place.
Like for example, where and how do they get their food from? If all visitors to this place end up staying because there is no escape, I would expect to see hundreds of delivery trucks and drivers all stranded there.

Yeah, these are questions we had too. It's looking to me like these people were 'chosen' for whatever reason. And they didn't all disappear in the same place, but in various parts of the country and just sort of reappeared there. I mistakenly said it was on Paramount+, it's actually Sky Sci Fi.

I'm sure there'll be some eye candy for Mrs. Pony, there always is. She likes anyone that doesn't look like me.

Would you believe it, just seen there is a new series about my home town, Grimsby, and the misfits therein. Starts at 9pm on ITV3 called Hotel Custody, I guess we'll record it so we can whizz through it, but I guess you'll see 50% of the people in Grimsby going through there Obviously you won't see me or my brother since we're 'posh'. This has of course reminded me of the series The Last Kingdom, and the main characters were travelling north to Northumberland and called in at Grimsby, I turned to my brother and said, "it hasn't changed much"

Time flies when your having a dump... Never seem to get over to the north east, for no particular reason. Newcastle once, Scarborough once, Hartlepool once. That's it. Unless Barnard castle counts, been there loads of times Travelling north/south is easier somehow than west/east. That's probably why. I'll be in Hartlepool come November though.

You obviously have an affinity with Monkey Hangers. 🤣🤣 You would think the people of Hartlepool would be offended by being given such a moniker, but apparently not. They seem to have embraced it, even have monkey statues in the town I'm told. So come November I'll be hanging with the Hangers. And I will bring up the subject (early on before anyone gets too pissed and takes offence)
