Just a ignorant comment - there's a hell of a lot of transformers in there, even if the output ones are missing.. My croft had next to nothing inside, but one large transformer for everything (I wish I'd taken pics but I didn't understand then even if i don't know much now...)

I’m glad you mentioned it because I’d expected an OTL amp to have one transformer. I felt a bit daft asking because I’d expected it to be obvious to everyone else. So I guess my numpty questions would be why two toroids in the top? I could get it if they were the same size. I’d have assumed one for each channel. Also what do thentransformers inside do if they aren’t output transformers?

Toroids are heater supplies and B+. The EI transformers inside are power supply chokes.

This could be done with one transformer, however I would have separate transformers for this for SQ reasons, which is the way Bruce has designed this amp. The transformers inside are chokes for the power supply, which reduce ripple.

I have very little knowledge, but experience tells me that using separate transformers is usually a good idea.
