I spoke to the maker of Kralk Audio speakers, reminiscing when I first saw him 4 yrs previous and he had his original speaker (I think it was called BC30) playing with his Sansui 990. I have to say I told him I much preferred that little system to his new £1k speakers and £4k of valve amps he was demonstrating. He did say he could still make them for anyone interested.

Looking back to the 80s, Meridian were years ahead of their time with the active speakers and the 207 as CD/Pre

The tweeter is an Isophon KK10, the mid is an EMI unit, doped, like IMF did with theirs and the bass driver is also an EMI item by the look of it, which has also been partly doped. Should sound decent enough. They might just about be worth the asking price and they are rare, but I'd not pay more. |
