Yeah they sounded great straight out the box to be fair (in my preamp) but did continue to improve for maybe 100 hours, possibly more. Maybe I'll put some in my BB3 one day too. Not that there's anything wrong with the caps in there right now but they do seem to give an instant sonic life to all they inhabit. £90? crack on lol What's £90?? |

2x ODAM at 2.2uf...oh Sh#t, looked at the wrong ones lol ODAM-080: 2.2uF 630Vdc V-Cap ODAM Capacitors (matched pair) £179.17 ODAM-070: 2.2uF 400Vdc V-Cap ODAM Capacitors (matched pair) £148.37 Save your money...this is the cap to use for 2.2uf in a BB3: jimsaudio.com/jlx-pure-aluminum-foil-luxury-mkp-film-2-2uf-200vdc-capacitor-1-piece/PLEASE NOTE :They are long, they will fit but you need sticky pads to raise them above the resistors. Also, make sure they are 200vdc! |

(the ones in my DAC are 0.47uf) At least they come in matched pair . . . . TBF compared to a very decent pair of valves (which you could pay the same for) I'd say there's a lot of value there as they sound really great to me. Like I say though, certainly not unhappy with the performance of BB3 currently so one for the long term ideas pile maybe . . . |

V-caps are amoung the very best form of caps I've have used/tried I only use the Odam's for third stage bypass but have found superb in all valve/Guitar amps (along with Chris's Tone's) also in various custom I/V stages I have designed. They only other caps I have found to get close are the Duelund (Coherent Audio not us) units.
The CuTF are stunning, but they should be given the cost!
The down sound of V-caps is the break in period, which is why I built a dedicated capacitor test righ for hooking up to the cable burner, it can handle 120 plus at one time of upt o 2uF, the bigger boys maybe 40 of them run them for 72 hours which equates to around 600 hours of normal use. Telfon directric is quite something
Its getting that balance again

The difference they made in sound stage ,detail and depth really opened my eyes as to what these components can do in the right place. So I knew I would get something for the BB3 and did, never regretted it. Besides I knew I would not be getting rid of it! |

Great shout Oli . . . totally forgot abour them. Absolute bargain. Need to rewire it with some CCC and possible add an MM/MC switch so maybe something to do at the same time . . . |

These caps are so ridiculously under the radar. They are proper film and foil without the BS that seems to accompany any cap in terms of a sales pitch. WEET too. Superb caps for less than a family meal in the pub, rather than dropping £500 on the Vcaps 🤦 |

Running ODAMs in the BI (as output caps I believe), inplace of the Modwrights that went in when initially pimped.
