Nothing wrong with that Walpurgis, women should always be good at the 3 ing's.  Some great points made above. especially the time scale of were we're at today. I don't like positive discrimination, as they say, the cream will float to the top, but there will always be a touch of 'the old school tie'. Is it different anywhere else in the world. |

I think a lot of problems are caused by this notion that men and women being equal means them being identical. You can have equivalent status without having all the same strengths or weaknesses. Women have genetic advantages and so do men.
There are also genetic advantages and weaknesses associated with race too, but again it’s something the PC brigade have silenced debate about, so we all have to pretend everyone is exactly the same.

Things were simpler back in the good old days....we were allowed to chain women (Which they loved) to the kitchen sink during the day and to the bed posts at night.
Wimmin knew their place back in the good old days.

I think the problem is that, historically, women have been paid less than men for doing the same sort of job (eg presenting the 'Today' programme on Radio 4. That is very much a case of women being treated as less than equal to men. As for the genetic advantages connected with race; if you'd looked at the racial composition of most major English football teams a few decades back, you'd have concluded that black people were genetically unable to play football. |
