SOLD. After much thought I have decided to sell these fantastic stand mount speakers! They were built as a demo speaker to show what bespoke speakers can really do, however, the ARKE Audio business has grown at a surprising pace. The biggest surprise is what people want... I thought a more affordable stand mount speaker would be the biggest seller, however, most people are going large! Floor standers and large floor standers are much more popular. These speakers are a rather special 'one-off' build and have upgraded crossovers and a curved cheek profile. They would usually cost over £2000, but I shall be selling at a reduced price of £1400 (plus delivery, if required). These have been demoed against various speakers: QAcoustics Concept Q500s, QAcoustics Concept Q300s, PMC twentyfive.22is. They have (IMO) bettered all of these speakers. Their real strengths are resolution and clarity - especially in the midrange and bass. The bass driver is only 5.5", but do not underestimate their bass capabilities - bass is deep, agile and extremely tuneful. A few details and specs: Measurements in thread: audioaddictsforum.com/post/88210/thread2-way stand mount speaker 5.5" Scanspeak Revelator mid/bass driver (as used in many speakers costing £6k upwards) Scanspeak tweeter - ring radiator type These crossovers have been upgraded over standard spec - the mid/bass caps are Audyn MKP plus caps (a £200 upgrade) Rear ported - can be stuffed with supplied damping for close to wall placement. Sensitivity 84dB/2.8V/1 meter Nominal Impedance 8 ohms, minimum impedance 5 ohms @400-500Hz Weight: 15Kg Dims: W220mm x H325mm x D375mm Single wire terminals Stands are optional (Price TBD) Cabinet details: Extremely solid and well damped - lacquered Baltic Birch Ply with bituminous damping material. Top, base, front and rear are 20mm thick minimum. Cabinet is braced. Sculpted 'wing' Cheeks are 32mm thick (max) with constrained layer damping sandwich construction. Full build details are here: audioaddictsforum.com/thread/2532/arke-1-designaudioaddictsforum.com/thread/2539/arke-duo-wing-cheeksThese speakers have been used for demo purposes. I estimate usage hours to be 200-300hrs - they are basically fully run in. Demo is possible here for about 2-3weeks (and then my house renovation begins). Home demo may be possible if local and/or travel costs are covered/shared. There you have it... an ex demo bargain available. £1400 is great VFM for a speaker that easily performs in the £5k retail arena.

Given the amount of R&D and quality of work involved here I feel the price is as they say a miscarriadge of justice, some one snap these up you really will kick yourself!

Having lived with these for a couple of months while Jason built my CNO4's, I can confirm they are very VERY surprising speakers.
The bass they can muster is nothing short of remarkable, not just for a speaker of their size but for a speaker without a subwoofer hands down.
They have a really nice balance of clarity and musicality to them. It actually takes a while to adjust to the lack of distortion. I wasn't used to hearing my music without colour or driver/cabinet induced distortion.
Sorry the thread looks a bit like we're just shilling Jason's speakers but they really are a total revelation for the price.
I'm confident in saying that as they slotted into my system so easily where others simply did not.

Here are a few ARKE Duo measurements: Above are left (green) and right (red) speaker measurements. The mic is nearfield and placed between the mid/bass and tweeter. This is an approximate measurement (it is difficult to remove all room interactions) and serves to show that L and R are well matched and have a good smooth frequency response. Both speakers are +/-3db from 100Hz-20kHz. The measurements DO NOT have the port contribution summed, which is why there is very little bass output. See Listening Position measurements for in room response (Bass now present!): (above) ARKE Duos measured at listening position (Orange). ARKE Duos and Troels 10" sub (with EQ) at listening position (Purple). In my room, the Duos (on their own) have solid bass output to 30Hz. The dip around 100Hz is due to destructive interference with the boundaries - this changes with speaker and listener location. This is actually a VERY smooth in-room response. Most other speakers are far more lumpy through the bass region in my room. The Duos and 10" sub (A Troels design) have solid output down to 20Hz. The Duos would be great in a small to medium room and the addition of a sub creates a full range system!

These are only available for home demo now.
My stereo is boxed up, so I can no longer demo here.
Grab yourself a bargain - proper high end sound, with low distortion and colouration. Detailed and fast bass - these will surprise with their articulation. The midrange and bass are very much on a par with £5-7k speakers.

Sorry folks, sale on hold for a few months!
Due to ongoing renovation these are packed away and inaccessible atm.
These will be back on sale in autumn 2023 and available for demo here or home demo.

These are available for purchase again!
The house renovation is progressing well so I can now access these. They can be borrowed for home demo, either by collection or nearby drop-off/meet. Unfortunately, I do not have the facilities to demo at my house - this should be possible from late September/ early October.
Grab yourself a bargain. I may consider selling my sub too... However, it looks so pretty I'm not sure if I can part with it yet!

Your very welcome and the visit to your house was a stunning day , envy your views and what your home will be when things are completed but can only admire you and your Wife's fortitude in living through the construction work . I will hold you to your invite of visiting when things are sorted as I really would like to hear the Vader's working . I only wish you had been around years ago when I had work income and could afford to indulge .
