Sensible ANNA upgrade path would be to find a completely trashed one and then get Ortofon to rebuild. I'd also go the same way if a Ti came up for sale.

My old man was mates with Nick Owen I think, that's about as close to an Ann(e) Diamond as I'll get I reckon.... 😂

I think we might be going around in circles here! I think the question should be, what exactly are we wanting to get out of Ortfon Cartridges? For me it was forensic, stark neutrality. I wanted to hear every detail I could on a record. ATC speakers + technics deck + SME + CB FGS gave me this as an option in my listening room. Ortofon are only doing what any good cart company should do and that's cater for various tastes. Warmth, neutrality, what ever flavour floats your boat. I looked at all the carts on the Cadenza line up and decided the CBlack was for me and that's why I didn't think the Windfeld would offer any improvements over what I had. It turned out I was correct (well to my ears/system). Now, I'd happily purchase a Ti / Anna if I could see that either of the carts offered me more of what I already have with the CB. I see the CB-FGS as a tool and not as a cartridge to willy wave. Jamie likes his Bronze, but will either the Ti or Anna offer him an improved version of what he already owns?

Had a reply from Ortofon: "Dear Oliver The MC Cadenza Black uses the Wide Range Dampening system, but does not use the Field Stabilising Element. You are welcome to contact your local Ortofon authorized partner for further assistance and purchase www.ortofon.com/where-to-buy. Our authorized partners have comprehensive knowledge and experience in use of Ortofon products and associated equipment, offer high standard customer service and comply with Ortofon after sales service www.ortofon.com/support?section=4440. Want to know more about phono cartridges? Download the brochure: Everything you need to know about phono cartridges"

Want to know more about phono cartridges? It'd be that close and similar that if someone asked me which one to go for I'd have to say the one you can get for best buck. Stock CB to CB-FGS is an upgrade, a clear one, having lived with both, no question. CB-FGS/Windfeld in my view, I've not heard or spent time with the Windfeld, however, and regardless and all I know and discern is they are likely much alike, to the point of negligible and debatable in terms of the word 'upgrade' ie: If I had the money, to upgrade, I'd look elsewhere / If someone had the money to upgrade I'd advise them to look elsewhere. Hope I'm making sense.

Ortofon do have a few flavours, but I particularly like the ones that give you everything with nothing added. In that respect, i almost don't want to hear anything above the Ti...the prices become ridiculously out of my range.

From the moment I heard a while back I've wondered what I'll do come the time again. His work is first rate and the result with the FGS re-tip he does is a bargain, considering the level it takes things to and what you'd pay for the equivalent realised via an upgrade cart. He was /is also a really nice and informative guy to deal with. There are other re-tippers out there but we'd have to be sure about things through testimonials and the rest of it - what to do?

Needlestein in the States is an option.
North West Analogue will fit FGS.
Not sure of anyone else.

What sort of price has he quoted for the work Jamie? This is a significant bit of info we need! Great work with the Kb. I love those carts.

And then you'll get some PimmelKopf's saying, "well if you change from Aluminium it's not going to be a Cadenza Bronze". You'll loose the sound of the Bronze. My advice is, sod'em. What's happens if you don't go Boron, and then potentially miss out on something that could be truly exceptional? I had the same old criticism when I wanted to discuss modding options for my Silver Meister II.

I also don't care what anyone thinks lol

Yeah me too, christ, how many decks and speakers have I modded over the years! Nowadays I kind of have an instinct with respects to what I think I like and would sound great in my system, usually I'm ok, sometimes it's complete knackers and I make a boo-boo. When posting to the forums it's always funny reading the diatribe with respects to which direction I intend to take the system(s). The Silver Meister II mods could be quite interesting if I ever pull the finger out of my chocolate whizz-way.
