Been boarding and skimming my kitchen this week. Hifi on in the lounge next door. Have been streaming Radio Paradise the whole time. I recommend it. Really good mix of different genres. Pretty much all good stuff. And loads that’s new to me. Anyone else tried...? No commercials and it’s “free” (they rely on donations from listeners. I chuck them a few quid every couple of months).

I gave it a go a couple of years back but I didn’t like the mix of music. Lots of people seem to like it though.

I think despite there being lots of different genres, there must be a certain common “taste” to the selection as O like almost all of it (euphoric, atmospheric...?) So I entirely understand that if that taste is not to one’s liking, the experience will be different.

I totally get what you mean. It has a mood, or maybe a signature to it. It just didn’t quite fit me, but lots of love for it on hifi forums,

In my mind, Radio Paradise is one of the greatest music resources on the planet. I'm surprised some people have an issue with the content, as I always thought it was quite eclectic and varied. They have an ambitious approach to SQ, and I think it sounds fantastic.
I pop them $60 per year, based on a contribution of $5 per month. I've discovered some astonishing bands and artists thanks to Paradise and I hope they're around for many years to come.

Internet is where radio is at now. If FM quality approached how it was in the 70s I might indulge in a tuner again. Not had one since my Hitachi FT 5500 was nicked 25 yrs ago.

I had a space in the equipment rack a few years ago, so I bought a cheap Rotel RT-830AL tuner to fill the gap. It has only been on once, just to see if it worked. It never occurs to me to listen to radio.
