They do tend to extenuate the upper frequencies all the pairs I have listened to over the years including the Mcgelans

Tree-ongles. (French accent)
Quite a few years ago they were very frequently at UK hifi shows. I enjoyed them for their lucidity and clarity and openness. Quite a distinctively bright sound. Never tempted to own any. Nice to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Cabasse are much more easier on the ears, however the stylng isn't to everyone's taste. Like the Triangles' they are generally a lighter load most start around 90/91dB sensitivity not as obvious as the Triangles, but I found them more engaging. We did well with them for many years and a long established company. Again like Triangle's marmite for quite a few. Both are well built products though.

I owned a pair of Antals a good few years ago and apart from the prominent treble they worked reasonably well with my system and my listening room. It was that "reasonably well" part that annoyed the hell out of me, so I swapped them for a pair of Dali Suite 2.8's which were a whole league better. Still though they never did satisfy me entirely either, as did a long series of speakers that came and went. The Quadral speakers I have now really do make me happy and have no cause to complain about the sound they produce, they are simply "right" in every aspect of their sound.

That rang a bell in what passes for my mind. I did a review for Hifi Pig of some Quadral standmounts over a decade ago. I was impressed by them. Are these similar to yours? www.hifipig.com/quadral-chromium-style-30-loudspeakers/
