Some good deals to be had with these people. Earlier this year when I was selling my Audion Silver Night (which I eventually got £900 for), they offered me £1400 in px for another amp which was only a few hundred quid more. For bargains, prob the next best thing to buying used privately. No, I don't work for them

Keep an eye on his brothers store Elite Audio, has some better deals at times, some of his used items can be a few hundred less than elsewhere.

I think you'll find that the LS3 is solid state.

jandl100 Who'd have thought it? Having just read a couple of comments, a great pre, very revealing but could be fatiguing.

Anyone interested in 3 months trial of Roon for $2 I'm not, cos I think it's a waste of money compared to my Logitech Media Server setup, but some of you might like to try it. I'm assuming it's not a user specific offer as was able to Google it. roonlabs.com/create-two-dollarroonlabs.com/black-friday-two-dollar-termsTerms state only for new users but I've tried the sign in here link and it gives the same offer BE AWARE OF PRICE RISES ON 1st JAN 2023

mikeyb $2 for 3 months is a waste of money for all the advantages Roon gives?

mikeyb $2 for 3 months is a waste of money for all the advantages Roon gives? No the trial price is fine, its the full price that I don't consider worth it. For me, $2 for 3 months at a time would be right for it 😂

Didn’t know that. I’m a big fan of Elite. First class advice, excellent service and a customer centric view on pricing. Ie always prepared to do a deal.

That Roon trial is a bit cheeky, only on until the 28th November and if you let it run it would take you past the price increase at the beginning of January.
$829 will be the new Lifetime sub and at the current exchange rate that's pretty steep for what is essentially a media player and search engine
EDIT: the sub price is based on the price that you choose during the trial so that's fair enough.

My brother purchased a life time sub for $500 which was good value. Have you used Roon along with any streaming service like Qobuz or Tidal, or even both?

I have trialled it about 5 times ( different emails ) and each time I still didn't 'get it' I can do almost everything that Roon does with LMS and it's free, as for Roon giving you new music ideas, well I do that myself, I might have thought about it way back at $499 lifetime as that was about £350 back then but $829/£685 - no thanks. I might try the $2 trail just to see if it sounds any better now that I have a proper transporter rather than just a Pi setup.

It's not that Roon gives you new ideas with Roon Radio, or even the extra info given on albums played. It keeps all your music together and doesn't differentiate between your own music library, Qobuz or Tidal, just go into the artist you want to hear and all the albums are there.

And Innuos Sense, which I believe is a stripped down Linux LMS bastardisation. Whatever, it just works.

The AR LS3 is tempting. But it does not have a remote and given that I'm a lazy f*** that rules that out. The Roon is also tempting (I guess Mikey that is why you stuck it in this thread). But my issue is that I'm already a Roon user and my temptation is if I get a lifetime sub before it goes up. I ought to have gone for it when I first started as I would be fully amortised by now.

Well I paid my $2 to trial Roon, again. Won't let me switch off my Logitech Transporter, either remotely or manually, having read up on it, it's a known issue they couldn't or wouldn't fix. I did read a post late last night somewhere that someone had found a workaround, but I can't find it again So that's me back to using LMS.
