After lusting dreadfully after the EAR 890 on AoS, I decided to have a little hunt around the internet and see what sort of amps are also quite sought after.
On the hunt I came across. Beard P100. Looking deeper into the name, it appears Mr Beard decided to become a recluse from HiFi and take his circuit designs with him.
Anyone got any experience with the P100? Any other Beard valve amps?
They look fit for purpose and entirely the opposite to the Bling of EAR.

I've heard one, but not for long. Can't say anything really struck me about it.
My mate had the P35 for years. It was OK, but nothing amazing in my opinion.

The P35 is *the* one to look for. the P100 started life ok, but we didn't like the revisions he made, which were along HiFi lines rather than musical ones I remember. these days, it's anyone's guess as to if they're really any good rather than nicely glowing black boxes. the P35 couldmake great music and it was sublime with Quad 57's - our service engineer had one he'd carefully serviced and he'd made a lovely visually matching valve preamp too which also helped bring the power amp's best out.

I knew you'd have some knowledge on these Dave, P35, off to Google!

Got a 'Recommended' in a mid 80's 'Choice from Colloms - and I'd take that as a compliment myself as he was becoming interested more in expensive imported US made gear by this time

It's a stereo power amp. They're OK, but having heard one dozens of times with various speakers and pre-amps, It's not where my money would be going.

I seem to remember the “Beard” brand either being sold or folding, only to be followed by the “Bill Beard” brand, those amps had a BB prefix rather than a P. I can’t recall if they were essentially the same amps or different.
