Well since the last forum didn't last long I'm now on this new one. I'm an NVA user with PT too turntable and Project RS Box cd transport with a Calyx dac. Looking forward to learning and giving advice were I can. Not owned a vast amount of equipment like some, I always listen before I upgrade , so have never had to be a box swopper.

Thanks for the-joining, Antonio. There's something about NVA amps that is hard to find in others. You often hear people saying an amp captures the best bits of valve and solid state, but it's rarely borne out when you listen. What you often end up with is something that is not quite as good as a valve amp for air and space and not quite as good as solid state for drive. NVAs were the closest I found to having your cake and eating it. I did find better (to me) valve amps from Audion and better solid state from Exposure, but neither had best of both worlds appeal. It was one or the other.
I've never had a PT Too, or even seen one in the flesh. I have has LPTs, An original PT and an Export though. I prefer less bouncy decks, so the LPT with the shiny top plate was the one I got on with best. Love the looks though.

I heard a Audion amp at Deco Audio when auditioning cd transports. Very impressed, and had I not seen the valves would have quite easy believed it to be SS. When I was starting out in 'real' hifi I dem'd Naim with Exposure and purchased the Naim. I don't think I have ever heard exposure since then. (more than 30yrs ago) I have to say I was a Linn LP12 user, but it was not getting the use it deserved and was sold. I then wanted a cheap tt and saw the PT on ebay, came with a Rega 250 which was sent away to J7, and it sees off my old Linn. I have since purchased a NVA phono 2, re-tipped the Lyra cartridge and I listen to vinyl much more than I ever did with the Linn.
