Greetings! Some of you may know me. Been meaning to join here for some time. Glad that AA management have approved my application to join. Moved to West Sussex about a year ago - previously was in North London. Mainly listen to Classical, Jazz and late 60s/70s stuff (reflecting my teenage years ) Current lash up. Digital: Roon Server > Roon endpoint > Metrum Hex Analogue: Sony PS6750 > AT-F7. WD Phono P3S. Also Revox B77/2 HS Pre/Amp: PhAST pre and Neuro. 686 (both either fettled or built by Alan Firebottle) Speakers: Tannoy Berkeley (with various RFC tweaks). Pretty happy with sound. Possible future changes TT and/or DAC. Cheers Edward

Cheers Andrew and Oli.
I suspect me joining here will cost me a ton of money once I consider some of the equipment shown here. lol

Cheers Andrew and Oli. I suspect me joining here will cost me a ton of money once I consider some of the equipment shown here. lol Hahaha, it doesn't have to. A few here have resisted the urge to splurge, but we are all pretty keen on getting the best out of our systems. We've got some top class technical guys here, so why not tap into their knowledge! As long as you are enjoying your system, or your upgrade journey, it's all good ☺️ There is a great appetite for the hobby here.

Welcome Edward, forums and mags are the worst things to read if you are happy with your system, but you know that already. Are your cables up to scratch? This is a great forum for starting to empty your bank balance with some experimentation with these

I'm only familiar with one of their other models and they are well regarded. Tannoy's on the end of a Firebottled 686 is never going to go far wrong I'd say . . . . Enjoy! Chris

Welcome Edward, forums and mags are the worst things to read if you are happy with your system, but you know that already. Are your cables up to scratch? This is a great forum for starting to empty your bank balance with some experimentation with these Funny you mention cables, I thought that was akin to a declaration of war. Mine are a hodgepodge of various, I think all reasonable but perhaps I will look at that one day (when finances allow). Not to worry , we'll soon change that! 😉 Welcome. actually it is some of your posts that parftly inspire me to come over here. For example your Eaton build as I have a pair of original Eatons (not Legacy) so interested to know how you get on. Hi and welcome Edward. Where abouts in WS are you? I'm in Chichester. Steyning. We met a couple of times before at WAM shows John (seems an age ago now!) Hi Edwards, welcome to the madhouse (another one). Tannoy's on the end of a Firebottled 686 is never going to go far wrong I'd say . . . . Enjoy! Chris The Hex is indeed a NOS design (able to accept up to 24/384) but I'm not sure if also a R-2R design. I was originally inspired with NOS by Colin with his Chevron Paradox design. As mentioned I may try something different in the near future. Hi Edward Welcome ! Some great kit .. Some visitors are appalled at the mess several boxes create. One neighbour speaks highly of his 'state-of-the-art' BOSE system which fits in well to his aesthetic. Maybe one day ..... Hi Edward, you made it! Good to have you on board. Cheers Alan.

Good luck to the seller of that 8750 - simply ridiculous price. Yes the 6750 rocks big time. Give it a clean record, with a good phono stage and a great picture emerges. When I first got the deck it seems the feet were locked up since new. Unlocked them, took the deck to a new high (pun intended).

Have to agree, some people get their hands on something rare and then simply look to sell for extortionate sum and maximise profit. He'll be waiting for that one guy with untold disposable funds, burning a hole in his pocket, who feels he has to have it ....

Unfortunately that's most of eBay now it seems . . . . . still some deals to be had from fair folk of course, but the profiteering seems to have gotten even more outrageous of late.
