I'm looking to lubricate the bearing on my SP10 MkII today.
It's a straight forward process I believe. However, does anyone know the correct procedure ?
Ie: Do I switch the tt off ? remove platter mat, undo the three platter screws and then careful pull up/lift the platter to get to the hole where the oil is applied.
I don't want to assume I simply yank the platter up and maybe cause damage if there's actually something to release first.

just remove the three platter screws rob and lift the platter away, its not on a taper so comes off easy then add a few drops of oil in the hole .

Hand on heart, I am astonished at what a few drops has done in terms of benefiting the replay.
Result is a knat's improvement to the noise floor, but that little further reduction in noise has revealed yet more recorded music info, barely audible aspects are more pronounced, separated out and some lines are now heard, that were not audible before. There is even more insight. As is with this game, everytime you think you know the albums you've span for 20,30,40 years, say nothing - amazing!

now imagine removing that nasty noisy bronze bearing and replacing it with torlon..... Exactly! If I didnt have to pull my tt up to have this done I'd look at it too, but really cant be asked, yes I'd enjoy that further bit more but Its sounding so good, I'm done with the obsessing over absolutely every minute thing. It was like it with the SL1210 I had, and you forget how to enjoy the music which I have been doing so much more than ever these past few years, just loving it.
