I have some old electronics and speakers in the garage and wondering if any is worth saving? First up. Leak Delta 30 amp. Case is knackered so would need a new one (I am sure someone sells them on Ebay) and it did work when las tried around 10 years ago: Armstrong 521 amp. Case is OK. Think only one channel worked when it was put away: Large speakers - says Wharfdale on the grills but I don't think they are - don't think they worked when I last tried them: A pair of TDL RTL 2 floor standing speakers - had these from new but I think they are on their second drivers and one of the surrounds is damaged. Also the cabinets have seen better days: Or all just for the tip?

speakers are probably for the skip but I'd keep any drivers that are still 100 per cent. People are always after replacement drivers.
I've got the matching tuner to that Delta amp, I think you should keep that.
Armstrong was mostly tat but the vintage case and switches got to be worth keeping, build a class D into it or something.

The RTL2's are worth persevering with if you're that way inclined. The bubble-rosewood finish was crap, but the boxes were pretty solid (the full width RTL 'long port' saw to that) so ripe for refinishing and the 'sound' was always great from them I fondly remember*. I'd ask Wembley Loudspeakers if they can replace the driver surround (I think it was a stock commercial part) and I'd suggest caution as regards any fancy cap upgrades on the simple crossover as it'll alter the tweeter balance more (they had a lovely 'sparkle' when new, but you can overdo it you know ) * An issue with small passive two ways is that if you stand up above them, in some cases the high frequencies detach and 'lift' with you and leave a suckout below to the midrange (B&W 805's were terrible for this but used professionally, they were set high I remember). The RTL2's didn't do this at all I remember.

He lived with his grandparents and when they passed away these were found in the loft. I remember a good fews back I replace the mid drivers as both were damaged and they sounded great but I managed to blow one of them, if not both (can't remember how....) I did like the way they sounded! Not sure if I should keep them or not as trying to create more space in the garage

Let's be realistic gninnam, you've got a great system, do you want the hassle of repairing them, you might enjoy a bit of diy, if not put them on ebay, they could be ideal for someone looking for a part/speaker cab/amp case and what you sell them for is a bonus. Good luck with the sales

Took the drivers out of the speakers today - TDL's first. They both work but one of the drivers is damaged so will put the drivers up for sale (so, 2 midrange (1 damaged but repairable(ish), 2 tweeters and 2 crossovers with binding posts)
The big ones I tested again and both work but the midrange in both do not work. Took them apart and kept the tweeters and bass drivers plus the crossovers.
Took down the part numbers of the bass drivers and guess what, they are Wharfedale drivers - looks like these were sold as a kit (W70)!
I think the bass drivers may be worth something after all - saw a site in the US selling them at $95 each. Might see if I can get the midrange drivers to work as they were going for $50 each.
The tweeters are mylar but couldn't find a price for them.

Dropped off the cabinets at the local council tip this morning - those Wharfedale cabinets weighed a tonne (sides, top and back made up of 1 inch ply and the from and back made up of 3/4 inch ply - shame to chuck but to het the laminate off would have ruined them so not usable for anything else!

Seems Pioneer knew how to make stuff that lasts in the 1970's, in Britain, we couldn't make a car for love nor money.
