Where best to send it to get it sorted?? You might have to sit down. I asked Killian bakker if an old 103m I owned could be fixed and the answers was a resounding no. Yours looks in better condition than mine I'd send him a picture

I always fit stylus guards on be doing anything with my TT's and thought it was on when I took the arm out to put the 12 inch arm in after moving the SP-10 to the other side of the rack. I must have caught it (well obvs....) - gutted as it was a great sounding cartridge

Not good this - will give the usual suspects a ring I suppose (Expert and North West Analogue) to see if its poss and how much. Might be worth just replacing it

ok, here is the response I got from Killian, this may clarify things for you. You might be lucky and NWA or Expert stylus might do sometyhing for you. Good luck.
"Hello Andrew,
the 103M is a very different cart from the usual 103 lineup and shares much more with the 304/305.
If the cantilever is bent or broken off with an M, it practically always leads to internal damage. Since there are no spareparts available for the suspension or generator of the M, we cannot restore Ms I'm sorry to say. We have seen many damaged 103Ms come in with such damage and there always is some or a lot of internal damage. Nice design but very fragile when it comes to cantilever issues (as is the whole 30- line).
Kind regards / met vriendelijke groet / mit freundlichen Grüssen,
Kilian Bakker

Andy, all's not lost. The Expert Stylus company seems to specialise in 103's and variants, try them on Monday.

Did similar to a KB once, really pissed me off. Real bummer when it happens so feel for you. Mind you it led me down the ZYX path so a positive came out of it. Good luck!

I did the same with a Ortofon Royal N SPU, nearly £2K worth of cart. I was very very lucky and managed to get it fixed, at a cost of a few hundred quid.

I did it with my Goldring Elite - kept it in a draw for a year or so then one of the retailers was doing an offer, replace your old/broken on for a brand new one for half the price - so I did

Spoke to Expert yesterday and he had never heard of the 103M!! Anywho, he reckons they can fix it which is good - will have to tell them that it has a different cantilever etc - no doubt the price will go up again.
Got an email back from NWA telling me not to try and fix it myself. They asked for a photo so they could determine if it is fixable or not which I duly sent - not had anything back from them yet.

Indeed - Expert not as bad as I thought but I will have to tell them that is has a Boron cantilever as I suspect they don't know that - they want £270

Unobtainium - well almost as not many made and when they are for sale, usually from abroad. Can be from late £200's (plus many pounds for delivery) upwards

Yeh that's kinked, it's a drill out the stub and fit a full new canti. Better than a butted fix.

Had a good chat with Dom from NWA today and the plan is to replace the cantilever and tip with the same he uses in his £5k cartridge. The diamond will have a FGS (Fritz Geiger S) profile - he believes it should be bloody good.
Just have to wait now (hate waiting....)
