Not been here in a while
I have been in hiding working away on many things, one of which is my MA100 design, which appears to be finally coming together. I have been developing this for a while and the design has undergone a few revisions. I am currently building a hacked up pair of prototypes of the evolved design on a Hammond biscuit tin.
It currently doesn't look like much but in theory it should be pretty damn epic when done.

Nice to see you back!
The PCB layout looks really tidy and I like when things look to have been well thought out.
I thought I was over my valve addiction, then you pop up with these bad boys.
Any idea when you'll have them up and running?

Even my cheap Chinese amp has point to point wiring Only pulling your leg, I'm sure this MA100 will be great, especially after all the good reports on your Radford amps, in fact if I had the 'dosh' I'd have purchased one for sure.

Thanks all. As I've said probably here and elsewhere the intention is to make an amp where figuratively speaking you can have your cake and eat it. A valve amp that's as easy to use / own as a solid state amp, with the clarity and openness of valves, but with the damping and control of transistor designs. I have developed some novel tricks that have allowed a genuine leap in valve amplifier performance. Amusingly it has ended up very much simpler than a lot of amps out there, given the performance achieved.

Sounds like a recipe for satisfaction . . . .
Very interesting.
Coincidentally I love those JJ KT88 valves. Top to bottom they always sound superb. Reliable in my experience too.

Tentative specs:
BW: Subject to compensation networks - adjusted as necessary to be decent
THD: 0.02% at full power, possibly less. Decreasing with power level, typically 0.003% at around 20W.
Output impedance: 0.008 ohms 10-10Khz, rising slightly in the top octave
Hum products: 100dB below 1Vrms, only 50Hz, 3rd and 5th harmonic measurable, 10uV, inaudible with your ear literally in the speaker in a silent room. No ugly spray of mains harmonics whatsoever.
Damping down to DC - bass control exactly as good as any solid state amp.

That does look fabulous Will. antonio I have heard an early prototype some time ago, with Wills ongoing development and his recently publish specs these are going to be epic. No warm and cuddly, just oodles of clean excellence.

Thanks everyone! I still remember demoing it to Alan as a lashup on the desk driving a single Epos ES14, good times lol. Despite the mono set up it was sufficient to demonstrate the uncanny bass control that this design gives.

That's a really tough price bracket to be successful/competetive in. I aplaud your ambition, and I hope it returns what you hope.

It's a lot of money but a lot of personal time and effort has gone into this - and given the price of the equivalent from the usual suspects it's surprisingly good value!
