As usual, if you don't believe that cables makes a difference as long as they carry the signal properly you can stop reading. After my surprising experience with Spotfire as a digital cabler between CD transport and DAC I decided to make a coaxial cable for this duty. I ordered the MPS Pioneer plugs from Aliexpress as per recommendation from Oli. The cable of choise was this one: www.audiophonics.fr/en/digital-cables/neotech-nei-3003-mk-iii-coaxial-cable-75-ohm-up-occ-silver-plated-o85mm-p-11606.htmlWhile browsing Aliexpress I could not resist buying 1,5m of the one that Optical tried out as well, the MPS M-880 which is relatively cheap for the assumed quality. I put the cables together using the same MPS plugs on both the Neotech and the MPS M-880. I then conducted a small shootout between Spotfire/Neotech/MPS M-880. To my ears both the MPS and Neotech beats the Spotfire slightly. Not surprising considering Spotfire is designed for analog duty. The MPS sounds slightly more detailed and focused than the Spotfire. I liked the Neotech the best. Another small increase in detail and clarity vs MPS. The differences are very small though. Nowhere near what I experienced when I first tried the Spotfire in place of my cheap coax cable. Tonally there's very little if any between the three cables. /Karl
