I listened to The Verve 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' last night, that's almost Classical. I mean it has cellos and things in it.

I think it depends on what you want, the expectation and how far you want to take things. In that regard, an mc will ultimately be better at unravelling busy, complex, multi stranded / layered pieces, which might not be a deal breaker for some, depending on what they tend to listen to, but a must for someone else in pursuit of what they want and want to achieve with it all.

A good MI cartridge certainly puts the cat amongst the pigeons when it comes to “the best”.
A MI cartridge excels at certain things a MC cartridge does not so well.
It is horses for courses, and down to personal taste.

Btw - Having not had experience of a moving iron, what do they excel in from your experience ? |
