Oli, Have you experiment with their placement or room position? IME speaker positioning is very vital in achieving great sound. Pulling speakers them from the back wall even an inch will make a massive difference ime especially in a smaller room. I have J, I am going to be shifting the Piano out very soon, so I'll be doing more experimental positioning.

Once that piano is gone those gorgeous 500’s will ‘breathe’ and sing beautifully for sure.👍

Been listening since 09:30 this morning and I am scrambling for more material lol It a great feeling to be back at this level of enjoyment

Knowing your luck Oli, you will take the piano out, and they will sound rubbish. 😛
Really glad they are working out for you.

Nice to read another good report on the Q Acooustic's, your record of 'wow' moments has been somewhat dubious over recent times Bigman Only kidding, no good going in with a negative attitude, look for the good points first, their looks are certainly growing on me, saw a picture on the internet somewhere and they did look good.

You can probably hire a couple of chimpanzees from the local zoo. Or failing that, get some students in.

Ha! made me chuckle. I remember that advert despite only being 8yrs old when it came out lol
I have two phonostages to get out the door this week (if i can) and then i will shift the Piano. Struck a deal to replace it with a modern day weighted Keyboard of sorts. Much smaller, and able to be stored away.
It's a heavy old beast so i need to roungd up a couple of pals to give me a hand, so fingers crossed it'll happen soon.
No idea where i am keeping it for now though. Thats the other issue as i cant just smash it up. The wife isn't ready for that.

Move it when she's out. You got it out into the street, popped inside to put the kettle on and some idiot in an Amazon delivery truck backed right into it. Nothing you could do, you were lucky to escape with your life.

I appreciate you having a loook Dave. I was told on the WAM that a guy has put his Concept500's on Tpwnshend and he reckons it takes them into another dimension. I'll certainly be looking into the possibility but not for a while yet.

Well I do know how good Townshend's are, my brother has used the bars for 6 years, I'll guess even buying 2nd hand your looking at 25% of the cost of those speakers, that's quite a sum for ancillaries.

You've been reading too many of my posts Oli, you'll be in the mad house soon, I never like to see people pay more than they have to, and that includes £100k+ systems even if they can afford it, all the way down to £1k budget systems. I will of course tell them to spend more if it will make a worth while difference, and I have recommended Townshend bars numerous times on forums over the last 6 yrs, and would never suggest to you not to buy them.

Any news on the piano, did you get the chimps in? No news yet. I have been attacking the overwhelming amount of junk in the garage. When I have cleared it out, I will then be looking at moving the Piano up there. Everything is gradually happening...just slowly.
