Looks like a nice new forum. Thanks to members, owners and moderators. :-) I'm Ben in Gloucester I like good digital, Class A amplification and big speakers. My main system is photographed below, and outlined in my signature. I'm pretty happy with it ATM. Not looking for any immediate changes. I'm looking forward to reading through threads here and contributing as the urge arises.

Hi Ben. Good to see you here. I’ve seen that room many times over the years with a few different speakers. I’ve also read a bit about your journey, although the speakers are new to me.
It’s always good to read about the exploits of someone who takes a “hands on” approach to his system, rather than just switching one box for another. The biggest drivers I have used were 10” but it was enough to tell me there’s isna great deal more to be had beyond 8” woofers.
I hope you enjoy the forum.

Hi Ben. Good to see you here. I’ve seen that room many times over the years with a few different speakers. I must improve my home security... Thanks for the welcome. :-) “Hands on approach”... Yes. I’m not that competent really, but have managed to muddle through somehow. The speakers are a very basic DIY design based on the simple Goodmans infinite baffle models of the early 70s. I have found that the “hands on” approach has bolted on a new aspect to hifi for me. Even at my rudimentary levels. Satisfying. Useful too, to tune a speaker around one’s own system and room. (My speakers would probably sound like utter Sh#t in anyone else’s gaff! :-D )

Howdeedoody - Always nice to have a Dr in the house. Ta. But be warned it’s only an honorary doctorate from Gloucester University, in Puddle Falling.
