Known for some time that the Allo USbridge sig that I fed my Denafrips Ares ii could be improved upon. Buying a chord Poly for my Mojo demonstrated that, but I was convinced that the Denafrips would really benefit from a better ‘digital transport’/ streamer So I pulled the trigger on the mouthful that is the SOtM sMS 200 neo SE Got it through Elite Audio, with a very nice discount and a load of great advice. Top dealer. Anyway.. one of those jaw drops. Wasn’t quite prepared for the difference. For instance I’ve always enjoyed And You and I by Yes to reveal resolution in my system. Qobuz have a very high res version of Close to the Edge. Not only did I hear this resolved like never before... but there was the audio image of a bloke playing acoustic guitar about 8 feet from me. I sit about 6 feet from my speakers. Awesome. Also appreciate that this kit can be improved in a modular way. I recommend it to the house.

Well done Steve.
Been good to watch the Digital system develop from the previous rig to the new one.
A lot of has gone from the humble Raspberry Pi based players to half decent setups.
I missed a cheap SOTM ages ago and then totally forgot about it as an option.
Sounds like you have received a substantial improvement and that is what these upgrades are all about.
Well done sir!

Yeah.. it’s transformed the way the Denafrips sounds. Much more ‘open’, detailed and a ruck of low level detail. In fact listening on headphones makes me realise how much bass the Harbeths miss.. but that’s another issue. The SE version sells for £675, and a guy called Andrew at Elite offered me £575 straight off. Very impressed
