Just bought Astell & Kern Norma SR25 Plus Beyerdynamic Amiron Home Over Ear Headphones.
Looking to find ways of ripping SACD's without too much of a headache.
Wanting to rip to 192,000Khz
Anyone?

Won't you also need a device that will read the SACD and output DSD?
To my knowledge only OPPO universal players and early model Sony Playstation 3 will do this.
Otherwise if you are just going to convert to PCM in order to copy the SACD there's no point in exceeding 44.1 Khz.

Why did you have it if not for the pleasure of listening to 192,000Khz music? I just want Duke Ellington's band here in my room keeping me warm and chilled! With either a nice iTalian coffee or a Remy & Martin brandy & Calem port in my little pigsty called home. My home maybe crap but at least my taste in music isn't! |

All for less than a £1000 Gonna purchase some Duke Ellington now. Tell you what ain't bad too. Blutoothing through Alexa to my Logitech z906 speaker system fantastic sound but lacking in top end by a few decibels. I'm not prepared to play with the equaliser yet to get a good knowledge of what the Astell & Kern Norma SR25 can do without adjustments. Yes I'm a musical connoisseur from birth. I was loving music on Radio Caroline at the age of 3.... If you want a great sound: Astell & Kern Norma SR25 Plus £650/£535 if your lucky Logitech z906 £150 on occasions on Amazon Alexa Echo £30 192,000Khz music depends on where you get it. £30 to £1000's |

I love to optimism its infectious, just about about 90% of the claimed 24/192. If the material was actually recorded at exact rate then ok fine. However corrected mastered 44.1khz 16bit takes some beating, it can be done BUT very few companies go through the correct procedure to truly achieve this. QoBoz and Tidal do not count in any shape or form  We have around 600 albums on 24/192 how many really sound any good, maybe 15%  tops. Correct mastering and transfers are the key. |

How is it that people seem to think this is connected to what you hear as a sound? It's not. It's a recording frquency that is related to how is is recorded. The ambienic nature of a higher frequency depicts a better recording. The higher the frequency the more information recorded? It's not what you hear it's what you hear clearly. If I was to ring a bell. recording it would be very difficult as the ear shattering sound would flood the microphone. But the microphone at a higher frequency would record the bell so as to not distort. The higher you go the better the reproduction as it is able to capture more of the sound without damaging the sound quality. Therefore 384,000hz would be double that of 192,000hz. So even better. It's a no brainer for me even though I'm slightly deaf in the left ear. Problem is when I put a pair of headphones on a singer who is in the middle of someones head is actually as if they were in front of my right eye. It's all about clarity. And jazz is where it's at with the Duke. |

Interesting thoughts, being an advocate of specific sample rates will deliver a greater sense of spatial acuity although a few will disagree However the most desirable and realistic are direct multiples of red book ideally 176.4khz. Your question regarding sacd the direct Pcm to dsd is usually 88.2khz Though in our studios our usual recording rates for clients are 24/44.1khz 《》24/96khz or 24/352.8khz for special projects. Mind you jazz players, great musicians in search of musical masturbation satisfaction through cosmic experiences via Sun Ra, Mingus or Coleman. Where did I put my Robin Hood outfit |
