Sounds like it is going well Steve. Good choice and happy listening. The Denafrips DACs are certainly exciting most of the hifii press at the moment and would be top of my list for sure. Bottom of my list is the JustBoom DAC I am just about to hook up!😊

Found a D90 in Belgium.... I don't think the seller wants to post it though. It sold for €400. He did not respond to my request until it had sold. I asked yesterday evening, he sold it this mirning. Disappointing, but such is life.

Bottom of my list is the JustBoom DAC I am just about to hook up!😊 It is going well Jim. Very happy bunny. Worth remembering the cost of these things though. It’s still £750 worth. In hifi terms not huge... but still the most I’ve ever spent on a dac and it bloody well should be good. I’ve just bought my son a douk audio amp. Built in dac, Bluetooth, optical in, decent speaker posts etc etc £125 And it’s tiny. Funny chaps, value.

Some of these little amp / DACs are very good for the money . I have a couple of TPA 3116 amps here which cost me around £20 and a couple of decent DACs which cost me less than £40 . I could live with them if I had nothing else

The problem is that the new speakers and amp show up any weaknesses in the system now.
I could live with the SEG if I had to, but I don't...

There is not a huge gap between them. Amazing Look at this on eBay (tried to cut and paste but it doesn’t want to do it. It’s from Douk Audio and in a UK warehouse - HiFi Bluetooth Stereo Audio Preamp with PGA2310 Volume Control Wireless Receiver

Those PGA2310/11 preamps can be improved by changing the voltage regulators feeding the PGA chip for low noise regulators.

Any advantage of using a "Dorado" PSU enhancer on an RME ADI-2 DAC FS? It will be fed from an LDA linear PSU. Spotted one for €600, which I am tempted to buy.

No. Not Jerry’s. All reviews says it is good, and for the price, I can move it on without making a loss if Imdon’t like it.

Apparently it is also made in Germany, by a professional audio company, so I am sure that the quality is good. Also, I think that product support will be better, if I need it.

Exactly. It uses an AKM chip. It has a headphone amp, that measures well. If it is good, I will sell my SEG and my Solo Ultra Linear, and I will be not much out of pocket. If it is not much better, then I will have a think about what goes.
I found a D90 for €600, but it was silver. Having missed out on a few bargain DACs, I did not want to miss out on this one.

I also think that modern DAC chips are so good now, that there is little difference between DS DACs at this price level. If I don’t like this, a Denafrips Ares II will be ordered.

Keith @ Purite sells em, they gotta be good, right? ;-) And Macca wants one.... I did, but in the end decided that all the extra features were not worth paying twice the price of the Soncoz, and being me I'd probably never get around to RTFM to learn how to use them properly. Although I do still regret not buying one a little bit. I think you've made a very good choice there.

My mates just bought one @cageyh and he absolutely loves it. He’s got a damn good vinyl front end too and he thinks it’s pretty close now , I think you will be sweet .
He Had a bluesound for a couple of years and could never get on with the way digital sounded . The RME has completely changed his mind .he even joked about flogging his vinyl rig .

Bargain then. I did look for a used one but six months ago there were only a couple available and not at a sensible s/h asking price.
